I had mine shaved once for an operation in hospital and my god, did it itch afterwards! Never again!
My back is still bad but supportable and showing signs of improving. It looks as though my bed was at fault. (But still being very careful! It's an old enemy and I know it well.)

Good news, the electric shaver arrives today. The rugged, unshaven look is starting to annoy me :biggrin2:
Very impressed with the electric shaver, a brand name I've never heard of but it got very good reviews. It took 3 days growth off my face and head (what little that grows on my head anyway) with very little effort. It uses a USB charger which isn't supplied but there are plenty of old phone chargers around the house. Useful that it's waterproof, makes it very easy to clean.

The leg is still fat and uncomfortable, only walked for a mile or so yesterday and it was aching when I went to bed. I'll walk a bit more today and see how it is.

Walking is encouraged they said, they neglect to tell you it feels like you have your leg in a vice and pins and needles in your foot afterwards. Sat in a chair with my leg up having a brew now, hopefully it'll ease up in a bit.
Cliffe Castle was nice though.

There's definitely improvement, thank you. It's still painful at times but mostly it's just a dull ache. It's still swollen and there's slight discoloration which was expected. I have another appointment at the DVT unit on Tuesday.

It's still fat although not as fat as it was, it's reduced by 1cm. Still a funny colour and uncomfortable but it doesn't feel as 'tight' as it did last week. I can't walk too far as it gets tighter and gives me 'pins and needles' in my foot. Managed just short of a mile yesterday and was glad to sit down and put my foot up. DVT clinic today so I will ask for an expected recovery time, bored with it now.

Hang in there Kev, you will get there with a bit of luck and a tail wind. I am still trying to move my toes on my right foot from four years ago but I think it is a bit of a lost cause. I must not have rewired the right neurons.

Hardly surprising! Best of luck with the response...

Just read the letter from the DVT unit to my GP (I love the NHS app), sounds like I will be on anticoagulants for the next 6 months. I will await confirmation from the unit at lunchtime today.

Following in Kev's footsteps my mishap in the garden where I knocked off a lump of skin took a turn for the worse. The Doctor in Colne Health centre thought it may be an infection or a DVT or a bit of both. Now booked into for a DVT test this afternoon at Burnley. Watch this space. :biggrin2:

I had a blood test at the Urgent Care Centre, a D-dimer. The higher the score the higher the probability of a DVT being present. The analysis range is 150 to 10,000, mine came in at 6300 which prompted the scan, x-rays and further blood tests. The D-dimer is a relatively quick turnaround, the result was back in just over an hour.
Hope it all goes well for you Ken.

They don't know yet, tests are ongoing. Currently listed as unprovoked.

I can't remember the beginning of all this Kev but did you damage your leg like Plaques did or was it completely `unprovoked' as the docs seem to describe it?

Completely unprovoked although discussions today may have identified a potential cause. I had a sudden, sharp pain in the same leg when I had Covid and had just completed a 6 hour drive from Southampton to home. The pain persisted for a week, I put if down to a strain of some sort but with hindsight it could have been that...

Am I right in thinking it used to be called Phlebitis?

Checked out at the DVT clinic. Nothing untoward all clear. Sorry Kev you're on your own again. Keep taking the rat poison and you'll be OK in no time. :biggrin2:

Latest on my fat leg, not so fat today. It's still a strange colour and feels a bit tight but there's definite improvement. Here's a picture if anyone is interested to see what it looks like, hopefully it won't put you off your lunch
