It's a Rumsfeld situation: known unknowns, unkown unkowns etc etc.

From figures provided by the Chinese Government? They wouldn't misinform us would they? I heard an expert yesterday say that the 2% figure was 'unreliable'. We are told that the death rate has been mainly in people with underlying medical conditions. Yeah right. . . .

The mystery of why the coach driver was unprotected whist the escort was in full hazard suit seems to be that the passengers were more than 2 metres away, so presented no hazard. The escort was dressed like that in case they had to be taken off the coach.

I've heard close contact defined as less than 2 metres away for more than 15 minutes.

The British reaction has been puzzling - on one hand saying it's no worse than seasonal flu, and on the other treating people as if they had the plague. We shall see. . . .

I'm also suspicious that there is more to this than meets the eye. It will be good fodder for those who believe in conspiracies behind every event.
The Spring Bank holiday has been extended by at least 2 days. If I wanted to go by high speed train to Guangzhou direct from Pingguo (13 trains per day each with usually 16 coaches at this time of the year) I would need to wait until 17th Feb when 3 seats are available! That's an awful lot of people on the move in the next 16 days and it will be the same all over China.

I hope that either the driver was wearing gloves or the passengers wore them. The virus will transfer by contact as well as inhalation.

Big believer in conspiracy theories. How about a trial run of containment if Trump nukes North Korea? Not that China would retaliate but as a contingency plan against the spread of radioactivity. :surprised:

I'm on Aimone - Vino d'Italia from Aldi at the moment.

Even with that advantage, that seems a bit unlikely. :laugh5:

One of my best mates has cancer and says he feels fine but is much worse than me on the quiet. That's not a theory, its real time and so bloody unfair. Too many of them are dropping off the perch.... (I refuse to join the rush!)

Why would they need to deliberately do a `trial run' when this sort of thing happens by itself? :laugh5:

That's it Sue, dead right. I've just vacuumed, even done the stairs! I know I won't feel like doing it for a day or two. That's that one out of the way....
It won't be too bad, just an uncomfortable 24 hours but if it keeps cancer at bay it's worth it.

I am surviving and coping. Steady improvement. I enquired of the lovely Helen and she said that the dose is the same strength, it's just that we get more sensitive to it. That'll be right......

Amazing what a difference a day can make. Life is worth living again...... And no more BCG for about 6 months with any luck! Helen commented again on how well I was doing avoiding bladder infections, evidently it hardly ever happens. Yippee! All good news and I like that sort.

The Chinese Whistle-blower Doctor ( Opthalmologist) has died of Coronavirus.
You may recall he was hauled over the coals by the Chinese Government for trying to alert others of the virus.

He was given a reprimand by the local police for spreading false news on the internet when according to the doctor's post on Weibo, on Dec 30, Li, an ophthalmologist at the Central Hospital of Wuhan, warned in the online chat group WeChat that he had seen a report that showed positive test results of SARS for seven patients. He continued working. He was only 33 years old.
At midnight Thursday there were 31161 confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland including 636 deaths. The infection rate does seem to be slowing down.

God bless Dr Li. He was young and has a pregnant wife. He knew he was doomed. He held his identification up as he was struggling to breathe. Later photos have cropped that, but I can tell by the colour of his cheeks that he was in respiratory distress at that time. I also see fear in his eyes.
I do not trust the Chinese government. I know they need to control an immense population, and panic will not help. But I see the desperation in that doctor’s eyes. He is a hero.
