HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Post by Stanley »

It's happened again, we seem to have survived another year. So I hope you all have a happy and prosperous 2013. Never mind the way the world seems to be going mad, let's agree to look after our corner and be nice to each other. The world is short of NICE!
The first landmark of the new year for me will of course be the birth of a brand new great grandson, Alexander James. God willing all will be well and I shall just marvel that I've lived long enough to see it!
By the way, my 77th birthday is on St Valentines Day... Just thought you ought to be ready....

( why is Sue's evening dressed lady embedded in your signature Stanley?)

Yes...Happy New Year to all. The usual greetings, a slight bow and rotating hand movement to signify my best wishes.
Will likely be tucked up in bed at the stroke of midnight, but acknowledge some of you may 'kick on' and want to kiss total strangers after having one too many.
( bit early with all this, aren't we Stanley? Have you been bewitched by Sue?)

I'm not delirious. Stanley's signature has Sue's avatar...no skull and crossbones. It appears like this to me on every topic.

If she is she's a bit late. Will be in bed at 22:00 tonight and leave the 'celebrations' to the youngsters.

Wouldn't dream of matchmaking.

I was going to say 'I will be with you, Stanley'. But what I mean is that I shall be in bed about the same time. I had to fight the eyelids not to have a little snooze this afternoon, so there is no way I shall see midnight. Mind you, I tend to get woken by the fireworks. We shall have clear heads in the morning too.

Am not making any resolutions. Take life as it comes, I say.
Happy New Year to All.

We used to get woken at midnight on New Year's Eve by fireworks but that was in a time of plenty and now we're in the austerity phase nobody can afford them...so we get a peaceful night!

"..so we get a peaceful night!" So you didn't notice the small quake yesterday?

"An earth tremor shook part of Somerset yesterday. The tremor, described as small, happened at 2.52am beneath Highbridge, in the north of the county.
he British Geological Survey, which monitors UK earthquakes, confirmed that the quake measured 1.3 on the Richter Scale. The last tremor in the area was in December 2006. It measured 1.6 on the Richter Scale."

Gooooooood Morning!
Berrocca and Paracetamol anyone?
Or 'full English' with plenty of fat, salt and sugar?
How do you attack a hangover?

No hangover here. In bed at 9.30pm and lay there watching "Chatty Man". Woken by fireworks at midnight, then again at 04.30am when a group of very noisy drunk men staggered down the middle of our road.

Maz, stay in bed but drink plenty of water...
Tiz, they must be doing OK in Barlick. I was in bed early but woken by fireworks. Jack was not pleased.... 2013 is dry so far. Have a good one.

We were woken by fireworks too so there's obviously still folk with money to burn. Stanley, tell Jack I sympathise with him and find the best solution is a paw over each ear and a biscuit to chew on.

Tripps, the residents of Higbridge probably wouldn't notice if a bomb went off in the middle of the night, never mind a 1.3 Richter earthquake! They'll have been full of Rich-ter cider and snoring loudly. http://www.richscider.co.uk/home.html

A Happy New Year to you All. Not as many fireworks this end not as affluent as those in your area maybe. We don't have any pets but our neighbours dogs were not happy with the few that went off Eileen

I'm sorry to say, my daughter and her boyfriend were setting off fireworks here last night, my protests went unheeded..........

I can't afford 'em.

The cat was already hiding because my sister in law and her family came round and it likes a quiet life....
