I would tend to agree with you, Wendy. If Christmas Day was the first night that baby Jesus spent on earth.
( I am not a Christian, I have no religious belief whatsoever, but I am just commenting that I think that is the way most Christians would go regarding days/nights)

That was my thinking. So the switch off should be this coming weekend.

I usually put my decorations up a week before Christmas, and take them down a week after, so mine came down yesterday.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Does that mean your house is undecorated at Christmas or do you delegate the job? :extrawink:

Sensible attitude! My own view is that I have nothing against others decorating at Xmas, it's just that I don't see the point if there are no kids in the house. It was always done with them in mind......

I see that Xmas lights and trees have started disappearing from the Town Centre, mainly Town Square at the moment.

I've only now registered the `2013' in the title of this topic. Perhaps we need a 2020 version next Christmas?

One thing I forgot to mention. Can you remember me noting that what seemed to be a helium balloon covered with flashing LEDs was caught in the branches of a tree on the Green opposite Montrose Terrace? It's still there flashing even though all the other lights are off. I wonder how long the battery will last? Could it be solar powered? I shall keep an eye on it!

It's a credit to whoever made it! I had a look on the web for them and they usually quote a battery life of about two days. This one has smashed that barrier!

The Balloon is still lit and I see there are others in the same trees but they have gone out. Must be about a dozen of them! Council or private enterprise?

They were put there by the town council, they're not balloons...
