I think I may have seen it on an odd hostile planet setting for the original Star Trek as well.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's very close to it, somewhere within the Thoresby Park estate. Let's see if anyone can pinpoint it exactly.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I'll give you that as it's the original location.
Your picture shows the Tussaud - Birt statue of Robin Hood situated in its original location outside the main entrance to Thoresby Hall. The statue was sculpted and sited there in 1948. In the 1950s Robin Hood's bow was stolen on at least one occasion for its lead value. Security issues became much more of an issue later on in the 1980s / 90s as ownership of the Hall changed hands, making a relocation of the statue necessary. Today the statue is situated in the courtyard outside Thoresby Art Gallery, just 200 yards from its original site which is where I photographed it.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
They're another form of concretion with the cement being haematite, red iron oxide, but it has migrated to the outside to form a thick, resistant layer. There are smaller ones on Mars! (Cue social media reports that Martians brought them to Utah!)

My wife has a set of haematite earrings, necklace and bracelet. They look very nice, the gold they're set in is worth a lot more than the haematite so dont tell her
