Exactly right Gloria but the question is what was it used for? The best clue is that Graham recognised it last time form his early employment.....

Looks too small to snuff out a candle, is it for getting into a small awkward space, maybe used by a motor-mechanic? 🤔

He's done it again! Dead right. The big Kalamazoo account books had a mechanism inside the spine which could be slackened and extra pages inserted. Graham recognised it as he used them in his apprenticeship at Windle and Bowker's for one groat a week......
