I reckon you're close enough Cathy, it's a one person air raid shelter, the one in the pic is in Germany. They were featured in an 'Abandoned Engineering' programme that was on the other day and were used for remote outposts as it was more practical that digging a hole in the ground. Must have been terrifying to be inside in the middle of an air raid.

Ooh that’s a little bit wierd , I half watched a program today called Mysteries of the Abandoned- Buildings, Towns and Bridges etc.

Didn’t notice any above ground Bomb Shelters tho.

Kev has it, it's an abandoned German artillery observation post on the Western Front in WW1. The tree is one that was hit by a British shell and converted by the Germans.

From Bancroft Mill? Not sure specifically who would use it but generally a machine operator's chair. These are quite popular with interior designers at the monent.
