Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
We seem to have run out of steam - so here's the answer. It's the 'rumbler' used to draw lots for the jury in the ongoing Kenosha murder trial. I thought it might be over by now. They have 18 jurors throughout the trial then six names are drawn out, and the remaing twelve retire to consider their verdict. On this occacasion the Judge allowed the accused to do the draw.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I looked at the link David and was struck by the way modern American formal writing so clearly shows its 17th century origin. Jurors are 'stricken' from the panel.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Mid way through reply and I had a power failure. Try again. . . .
"So say you one, so say you all?" That has a ring of history about it.
Seems not many trials in America have a not guilty plea. Most are plea bargained and negotiated before the trial. I recall being surprised that after the guilty verdict, whilst still in court, the doctor was immediately handcuffed and leg shackled.
I noticed too. It reminded me of the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, and the words uttered by the court usher/bailiff when the verdict was announced

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
The NRA will be rejoicing... A travesty in my opinion. The jury were quite right to acquit under the law as it stands. The problem is a law that allows a 17 year old to go into an area armed with a military semi automatic weapon without breaking any law. It is, quite simply, madness. Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I'll knock it on the head, it's a 'hooverville'. (Shack built by the homeless) It's in the middle of New York at the base of the west tower of the Brooklyn Bridge. I found it in the 1980s. Try this easy one.
