To make the wiring bead on sheet metal. The wire is inserted in the groove then the edge is formed round it. Don't know the name of tool I'll offer up 'Bead Former' . My brother was a sheet metal worker old style.

You all have it of course but I'm trying to dig out the name it was given as I think it's important we remember these things. The name is 'A tinners Jenny'. Jenny is a corruption of engine, see 'spinning Jenny' for another example.

There it is in the top left hand corner hung on a nail with the fan belts. This is 45 years ago in the workshop at Hey Farm. (This was an early iteration of today's playroom....)

Kev's got it. To be more exact a valve spring compressor for side valve engines.
