Watched the ch5 programme last night on The Secret World Of Your Rubbish, it’s a lot more interesting than it sounds. Amazing at the clothes which get thrown away, and what an enterprising company is doing about it.

The snooker today has been perhaps the best ever shown on TV. The semi between Kyren Wilson and Anthony McGill was probably the best frame ever,and probably unique. The final score of 103 - 83 would confirm that.

The match which O Sullivan won in the final frame against Selby was different but also memorable. The post match interviews were remarkable - Selby said O'Sullivan was disrespectful, and O'Sullivan seems to be in need of fairly urgent psychiatric advice.

Final should be good tomorrow.

At 20:30 I got to the stage where I couldn't stand the uncertainty of what Ronnie was going to do next so I went to bed. I see Selby says Ronnie is 'disrespectful'. I think what he means is that Ronnie doesn't play the game how he wants him to and on top of that beat him. Best if everyone stays quiet and just plays snooker. I shall watch it on catch up.

I've just watched the semi final. I think it's quite clear what Ronnie had decided to do. He knew that to have any chance he had to disrupt Selby's game plan and that was just what he did. Throw in a run of the ball and sublime break building and what you got was 4 of the best frames I have ever seen in my life. Nothing disrespectful about that, just incredible match snooker and yes, Ronnie had the good luck for it to come right in the end.
Now for the final. My cup overfloweth!

F1 quali and the rest of the snooker final. Lovely to see Ronnie and Kyren Wilson being so nice to each other after Ronnie won his sixth world championship. Kyren's day will come, he has the spark of genius already and he is only 28. Ronnie, at 45 just seems to get better and better! Overall a very good championship. 17 days of delight for snooker fans.
Today I shall watch F1 on catch up, couldn't let it interfere with the single frame of the final snooker session!

Ha, long before the Crucible days and mega money we used to have Pot Black. I remember the outrage aimed at the BBC when they cut during the last three or four balls of the final frame to show the SAS storming the Iranian Embassy! "No one puts baby in a corner"

Nothing phases them though, lots of folk would have a melt down with what they deal with on a daily basis. Nearly up to date with their timeline as the storm was in February this year. Clemmy in the snow making a table for the sheep to eat their dinner off, priceless.

Another feel good program we watch is "The Repair Shop". Nice watching extremely talented folk breathing life back into broken stuff, recommended for anyone not already watching it. On tonight BBC1 8.00pm

I've just enjoyed watching Sir Lancelot on Talking Pictures tv. Good heavens, i remember it so well! 1956/57.

I too have gone back into the past and am reviewing The Bridge from the first series. I'm enjoying meeting Saga Noren again!

Enjoyed the last three episodes of the Bridge. The first of the scandi noir series and still good stuff.

Amanda was on the Breakfast Show on Radio 2 this morning. This last episode is self filmed as it was filmed after Covid lockdown and the film crews had to do a runner. They showed the family how to use the cameras and left them to it. Can't wait for Clemmy Cam tonight.

Our Yorkshire Farm last night, brilliant as usual. Loved the toddler head cam. You could hear all the wittering going on.

I worried about the bangles when Amanda was assisting the lambing!

I watched and enjoyed it again. Brilliant how they involve the kids in everything, and give them so much freedom and responsibility. Great to see them all playing in the river for example.

My fist negative thoughts popped up though I'm afraid. It seems a very inefficient way of farming, and when they have what seems to be a collie, why do they use the kids to bring them in? Many of the sheep seem to be left on the hill to lamb, rather than being brought inside. There were inevitably losses. I was surprised to see them put the weakling into a real oven to warm up, with the adjacent fire going full blast. Roast lamb came to mind - All ended well though.

I see they do bed and Breakfast. They'll not be short of bookings I'd guess.

Only the proving oven in the range Tripps, nice and cosy and as you said ended well. Not as easy in the higher dales to get all the sheep in for lambing, they are spread over miles of moorland. I would think having a bunch of kids with boundless energy would be a bonus. Also without the little un finding the premature lamb it would have become another loss.

We've enjoyed the Ravenseat programmes too - I think life-affirming describes them for us! The kids are a joy to watch.

The Swaledale and other hardy moorland sheep are best left to lamb outdoors, they dont do well inside. I would imagine that the dog could drive the ewes away from their lambs on open moorland so sending the children to search out poorly lambs would be less threatening.

Tripps, they also have a shepherd's hut for holidays which featured in the earlier 'Dales' programmes. The farm is on the Coast to Coast walk so I think they get camping and b&b trade from that as well as the publicity on tv.
