We are just keeping up to date with it on live tv, sometimes we find we need subtitles on and that doesn’t happen on iplayer.

Paulette uses the subtitles, on the iplayer, when she catches up on the soaps. She watches them once I've gone to bed, I go early when I'm on shift.

I’ve tried using them on various channels when we’ve been catching up, but they don’t work 😭😭helpppp.

Paulette just navigates to the 'speech bubble' icon with the TV remote.

I think this must be fake news - It's simply not credible that the BBC has appointed a white married Yorkshire man with two children, as its new Political Editor. Chris Mason

Snooker back as the default channel to watch. Noted today and yesterday, several shots that have hit the jaw then gone in.

The commentators have explained that this is due to the cloth being new, and having a 'sheen ' on it. It won't happen on day four has been said at least twice in my viewing.

So - nothing to do at all with the pockets being made just a touch bigger to get more high breaks then?

This constant scepticism is a curse sometimes.

I noted the same thing David and heard the explanation. The cloth is woven using mainly wool as I understand it and as a natural material is involved I think we have to accept variations. Mind you I did note some very durprising results, there was a pink into the right hand bottom pocket......
But good snooker and nice to see Ronnie getting through to the second round.

I watched a programme on BBC2 last night. Surfing as usual I first skimmed past it at as it seemed to be a 'drama', and I don't do them for several reasons. Well - no snooker, and no Judge Judy, so I found myself back with Official Secrets

It was a drama, but a reconstruction of happenings in the fairly recent past. names I recognised, and a theme that rang a bell. Story of the decision to go to war in Iraq in 2003, from the point of view of a whistle blower from GCHQ. Great detail of the devious workings of Government. It helped that I knew a lot of the names involved, but had no mental picture of their faces. I'd recommend it.

Another plus was the fact that I actually understood what was going on, 'no boxes have been ticked in the making of this programme'.

It fitted in with yesterday's activity - where I found that the result of a Google search either showed a certain document in an official report, or didn't depending on whether I searched directly or with the help of a VPN which simulated me being in Holland. The documents were numbered sequentially, and that one had simply been removed for UK searchers. I can understand personal details being removed on request, but this was in an officially published Government enquiry report. A bit sinister I'd say.

Thanks to whoever on here recommended Proton Mail and its accompanying VPN - think it may have been Tizer.
Handy to have available.

The missing document David. One document doesn't worry me too much but the fact that different domains have access to different things is worrying. It shows that someone is deciding what we are fit to see and censoring what is available. Who has the time and resources to do that?

Watched part one of the Netflix documentary about Jimmy Savile. When you listen to some of the answers he gave about his private life, before the police investigation, he certainly hid it in the open. Part two may prove to be a tough watch.

These things are often clear in the rear view mirror Kev but not so obvious through the windscreen.
As for TV. I am enjoying some wonderful snooker.

Watched part two this morning, hindsight is indeed a wonderful thing. Pretty much everything hidden in plain sight. I'd recommend watching it if you have Netflix.

Not often I watch daytime TV but I have just enjoyed Ronnie O'Sullivan play two of the best frames of snooker I have ever seen to beat Steven McGuire 13 frames to 5 and get in the semi finals of the World Championship. Wonderful!

Yes, we watched that the other night Wendy, I think there’s another one we haven’t watched. Anne Hegerty and Shaun Wallace, might watch that tonight.

Thanks for that Ian, just in time to allow me to watch my mate Ronnie on catch up! He is running at 4-4 with John Higgins overnight. (LINK)
I have been watching snooker every day. Some wonderful skilful play. A treat to watch if you are a fan.

It was 21:00 last night when I got home after our expedition into the wilds of NE Lancashire so I missed my snooker. I shall be catching up today instead of doing normal activities!

I missed all of Ronnie's semi final and catch up wasn't working on my Humax box. I watched the Trump Williams match and it couldn't have been any closer. I have little doubt I will be spending quite a lot of time watching the final today..... :biggrin2:
