Thornton Rocks

Post by MickBrett »

Always an adventure play area when I was a kid. Fishing, Camping, climbing The Cat's Face, general messing about.
Lots of rumours of what was at the bottom of the flooded area. Old cars, a huge crane. All false to the best of my knowledge.

Thornton Quarry when it was being worked. Very popular with SCUBA divers because of the depth. And full of wild garlic. I know that because the farmer up Thornton Lane who had Jersey cows let them get in the quarry one day and their milk tainted our Channel Island tank because the tipper had a bad cold that day and couldn't smell it.
