The New OGFB WebSite Goes Live

Post by Doc »

All be it a bit early, this website went live today and hopefully the existing members will like the look and feel of the new website, I know that some of the features will be different from the old software but I expect that the members will soon become accustomed to them.

I haven't had much time to fully test this website yet so I am expecting one or two bugs to be lurking in the software, If you come across any, please report them in the website -> Bug Reporting forum.

There are still a lot of changes, new additional features etc. that I wish to do, so with that in mind, the site will evolve over time.

I'm hoping that you find this new site to your liking, having worked with it now for a week or two, I'm quite impressed with what it offers.

The old site ran for 8 Years and was well past it's sell by date, this new site should easily run another 8 years and maybe a bit more.

Here's wishing you all well

Any Questions then please post them in the relevant topics
Best Regards

I'm here. If anyone knows where I might find my dancing a jig witch please speak up cos I can't find it  . Sorry if I have put this message elsewhere but I am just wandering about and getting lost at the moment. AND, am I going to have to learn a load of new games, just when I had got the hang of some of the others
Gloria----nearer the sea than Barlick, but at the moment feels lost in space.

Gloria
Your need to go to your user control panel (Top Left Under Portal->Board Index)
go to your profile
edit avatar
Open Avatars
And if I remember rightly your dancing witch is right down near the bottom of that page, its a big page and may take some time to fully load, but it is in there I remeber seeing it, I copied all the avatars from the old site over to this one.
Hope this helps

Great work Doc! Lovely pictures too, and a more `modern' feel to the site's design. (I wonder if he mended that little leak in the bottom left hand corner where the rain kept getting in?) Now I can stop taking the dried frog pills and get back to my OG addiction instead.

I too have come through the mist and have re-birthed myself.
Even had to cut my own cord. Anyone need to borrow my rusty knife?

Hi everyone, gosh it is different isn't it. Thanks heaps Doc, well done. Still trying to get my avatar organised, I've found my avatar in the display gallery but can't get it into my profile, I've clicked left and right, double clicked, nothing happens. Haven't found anything that says Open Avatar. ??
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Click on your Avatar, then scroll to the bottom of the page ( just keep on going down), then press the button at the bottom.

OK - finally got here.
Well done Doc - the site is looking good.
I expect there’ll be quite a few glitches but I’m sure they’ll get fixed.
Have we totally lost the old site? I know it’s archived but what I mean is, are all the old posts in the Forum no longer accessible to comment on?

Same here Maz, how is Gracie doing?
I have found my original avatar online, but the site doesn't like it because it is too big. I have managed to reduce it in size to 75x90, but the file is still too big at about 10kb. Is there any way of getting her back please? I feel a bit lost without her.

Avatar now sized and loaded, donation made, ready to go! My avatar was far too big in kilobytes so I made it small but it was still way too big. I looked at other people's avatars and saw they were .gif files whereas mine was .jpg. So I saved mine again as a .gif and it dropped to about 4 Kb which comes inside the limit.
