I should know what it is but I'm struggling to remember. An alternative to a corkscrew? Slide the two strips down twixt cork and bottle, rotate then pull. The handle also serves to prise off crown caps from bottles.

Sorry Kev but no, this was designed to go on a wrist. There is something unique about it that nobody has mentioned. The clue is in the image. I snapped it as it hung on the fridge door.....

Does it have magnet in the head which by wearing some folk think can have a medical effect on the body?

You've got it Ian! It has five magnets in the wide part. I used it when I was recovering from a broken wrist and I think it helped. I can't say whether it was the magnets or the support but it worked.
