I have a normal quartz watch that just tells the time but it needs a new battery and I haven't got round to getting one yet. Cant see why they cant shove rechargeable lithium's into "normal" watches.

I have a 'card' of button batteries in varying sizes. What's the ID on the battery? I'll have a look and see if I have one.

As for the watch, I'm pretty certain from the way they were acting that Lorus haven't done anything to it and they don't believe me when I say the crown and its shaft came out completely when I pulled it one click further to set the date. No way I can check on this so my defence is that I shall ignore the date (it's too small to be read easily anyway) and only use the crown for setting the watch twice a year when the clocks change!

No - not at all, and the artist Stephenhas been painting in that style since before TikTok existed. Maybe they copied him.

A few months ago I was contacted by Matthew Engel who needed some information for his latest book, Part 1 of The Reign. Life in Elizabeth 's Britain. 'The way it was 1952 - 79.' He offered payment but I told him it was a pleasure to be asked.... (He is quite flattering about me in the book.) Today I had a present delivered. A complimentary hard back copy of the new book! I wasn't expecting it and how nice when someone does something like this. It says a lot about the man's character. Here's the image he used....

I copied a video of London in the sixties recently, and it tied in with a little adventure I had there at the time. I went to the 2i's coffee bar - very adventurous - but a bit of a disappointment actually, . No Ford Cortinas nowadays, but I imagine Carnaby Street is much the same.

My personal attraction has been watching the kid's plane taking off from Perth. They are climbing out over the Indian Ocean now on the way to Dubai. I shall go back and pick them up tomorrow....
