You'll have a nice day for it Wendy.... Shades of Hannah Hauxwell. I looked her up to make sure I had the name right and realised she had died in February last year..... So perhaps she is a bad example!

I bet she would have liked a quad bike. She must have been quite young when she was filmed, though she looked like an old woman .

Hope you wear your crash helmet, these things roll over on anything but the flattest land. I've never seen one with an anti-roll bar but I believe they sell them.

Did a bit of gardening today. Baby steps...only about 45 mins and most of that was fertilising my potted plants and trimming straggly bits. Would like to have done more as it is a lovely sunny day, but let's see what "pay back" I get from this morning's lot.
We went for one of our longer walks this morning too. Carried the walking stick, but only used it once on some uneven ground. I nearly decided to leave it at home altogether.

Probably getting my photo ID done for my driving licence application. Can't find my last passport ones and I don't think I can get away again with my 15 year old self that I have on my bus pass, no one ever looks at that as its a smart card that you just pass over the reader when you get on the bus. Better have my driving licence at least look like the morbid me. :extrawink:

I renewed mine completely on-line earlier this month. They used my passport photo but I'd supplied a new photo when I renewed my passport in January this year anyway. It was only a renewal because I'm 70+

You can use your passport for a renewal but mine is a first time Photo Driving licence so you have to supply a new photo. You can tick the box to use your passport as ID verification though. I have another 6 page medical doc to fill in regarding claiming my licence back after my surgery. I went to see my doctor about 10 days ago so that he could give me the once over as the DVLA will contact the surgery for my medical notes. It's a hoop jumping exercise for me.

Library this morning. We had a nice walk with some friends yesterday starting in Carleton and heading up the hill towards Lothersdale. We ate lunch on the hillside overlooking Skipton, with the constant sound of traffic and trains in the Aire Valley and being grateful we were up there listening to curlews and watching buzzards.

We are having a new CCTV system fitted. Bob did the last one many years ago but we have decided to splash out with the company who do our burglar alarm. We are always concerned when we are away so long in the summer. This system we can check on our phones. The old system we shall take to France as a visible deterrent more than anything else. Thus no walking today as we have to be in the vicinity of the house. Next week we are off to Loch Ness for a week so plenty of walking then.

I hope tp speak to my GP today. I have been suffering from muscular aches in my legs for some weeks now. I am concerned it is the statins.

Quite innocently I ran foul of one of these systems while trying to locate an old farm property. After parking up just inside the long access road and then deciding it was the wrong place a big Range Rover drove up and the driver looked more than angry showed me a image on his phone of my car at the entrance. Things eventually calmed down but I was quite impressed by the system's performance.

Exactly my symptoms. He will probably offer you some different formulations. I went through the book on them but finally threw my cap in when I suffered a bout of shingles. I reckon they had just wore me down and my body was beginning to complain.

Oh great. So a country (China) that doesn't allow google street view is happy to keep track of security in your home in the UK?

I too suffered limb pains on statins. They make you feel older than you are. ( I suffered gut problems too)

I am concerned it is the statins. I hope you get it sorted Sue. That make 3 out of a small study group who may have had problems. Glad I can keep off them!

Add Colin to the list of people getting muscle pains from statins. The good news is that the pains go very quickly once you stop. "Killing you one cell at a time" I know I've posted this link before but it's worth reading again.

The GP told me to stop taking the statins for two weeks and see what happens then go and see him, or to be correct talk go him on the phone. Bob was put on them at the same time as me, he has had no problems but is on a different one.

Art this morning, lunch out then writing this afternoon, yoga tonight. Life. Returns to normal

I hope you get a resolution Sue. I am, and have always been, deeply suspicious of statins mainly on the grounds that I distrust 'miracle pills' that offer an easy way of addressing a problem (if indeed there is one). I firmly believe that attention to diet, a knowledge of basic nutrition and in particular lipid research, and basic common sense are the best defence against what we are told are the problems. As it turns out, those of us who refused to buy the canard about saturated fats were, in the end, proved correct. Even the doctors can fall into these traps set by huge lobbying interests with a financial stake in promoting one thing or another. Even today, in the improved climate, how many times have you heard mentioned the balance between long chain Omega 3 and Omega 6 oils and fats?
Today is shopping and perhaps a bit of shed. It's taken a while but I feel that I am finally getting over the effects of the immunotherapy. It's not as savage as chemotherapy but even so has powerful effects on your system. I have more energy that at any time on the last 7 months.

Having said I have more energy I am a bit depressed by the gloomy weather and have doubts about the shed, doing nothing and keeping dry looks quite attractive!
