Didn't stop them having Farage on Question Time. A bloke with no MP's and no policies, just as always an ignorant shouting down listen to me I know everything voice. Mind you I don't know why I continue to watch it as Fiona Bruce is useless and probably more biased than any other presenter has ever been on the program, bring back Robin Day.

Farage was on Marr on Sunday too. Has Brexit been engineered by the BBC and its political pundits just to give them something to talk about- given that the BBC has lost most of sport to private higher bids they have nothing else left to fill the airtime.

Am I getting confused or just misunderstanding words. TalkTalk have been advertising that some of the programmes within the subscription packages ie: 'Entertainment' will now be available on 'Catch Up', these programmes will be identified with a logo (a circle with the Play triangle in it) so that it is clear that its a catch up item. Thinking that if you tracked backwards in the guide you would find programmes with this identifier you could then play as a catch up, this approach has proved to be wrong. The catch up programmes are actually what I would call repeats to be viewed on the day and time of their choosing taking the time slot of new programmes. Has anybody else come across this or is it as Humpty Dumpty says " words mean what I choose it to mean".

Coldn't say P because I don't use it. I rely on my Freesat list of apps and most of all on the 'Start at beginning' facility on BBC TV, a very useful tool.

I think this is the best thread for this?

May I recommend Margaret Ashworth from The Conservative Woman website's weekly column on BBC nostalgia. This link leads to all her work there.

Lots there including PC 49, Hancock, Dick Barton, Family Favourites, ITMA etc. It's brilliantly researched and written. Her husband Alan does a weekly column every Monday on music, and they now live in the Ribble valley. Clitheroe I'd guess.

Halfway through the latest Cardinal the Canadian detective series. It was on BBC4 (now on iplayer) and is well worth a watch.

Second series of Killing Eve starts tonight. Will Gompertz has very little good to say about it. I shall judge for myself.... (LINK TO CRITIQUE)

I was surprised last night to find that I could watch episode 2 of Killing Eve after the F1 qualifying.
Tonight I have the eventful Canadian GP and Gentleman Jack. This ploy of watching late programmes on catch up the following day suits me down to the ground as I like to be in bed in time for the 10pm news.

I watched the Canadian GP and agreed with the verdict of the FIA, Vettel did try to push Louis into the wall. That lad has a flaw and it has surfaced before. Watched Gentleman Jack and I am still enjoying it.... (Haven't found my copy of Anne Lister's diary yet)

Just bumped into a minor channel programme on Brendan Bracken.

I'd heard the name but didn't know much about him except he was connected with Churchill. . I kept thinking of Alistair Campbell for some reason. Have a google.

I bumped into a programme called 'Famalam' last night. I found it hard going and largely incomprehensible, and I didn't last long with it. It's said to be a sketch show

Here's the trailer Famalam Enjoy.

I saw nothing I fancied last night so I went on All4 and found 'Avery British Coup' with Ray McNally.... Just as good as it was in the 1980s.... Well worth watching again.
On R4 I have been listening to Jonathan Sumption the ex supreme court judge talking about the relationship between Justice and Politics. A delight to hear such clear opinions, a brilliant mind at work. Well worth seeking out and listening to all five of them.....

Quite out of character for me, ( in fact almost unbelievable), but I've watched the last couple of episodes of Gentleman Jack, and must confess to enjoying it. The 'production values' were tremendous, though they could have resisted the rain machine scene. There'll have to be a second series - the amount they spent on costumes alone will ensure that.

I liked Suranne Jones in Scott and Bailey which was set around Oldham, and now I find that she is local, and was brought up in Foxdenton Lane, which I used to know well.
