I think she'd be OK Kev. Mind you it got very gloomy late in the afternoon and there was the occasional spit of rain. At 20:30 it was dry but 100% overcast. This morning first thing it was dry with broken cloud, a few stars peeping through. At the moment we have a uniform thin overcast, enough to block the dawn light in the east. The glass is up on 1002mb and still rising but the forecast says we shall have a vigorous low tomorrow. The forecast for today is for a brighter day with sunny spells but the chance of showers this afternoon. The constant light wind is SW and gives a high of 14C and a low of 7C with a -1C wind chill. Tomorrow and Saturday we can expect the low to bring us rain. Overall the long term looks cool for the time of year.
05:50. A pleasant walk. Calm, dry and a rapidly clearing sky, a watery sun has just broken through low in the east. Cool but I have had worse walks in June! There's a heavy dew and it's looking promising.

The forecast showers never happened, it was quite a bright pleasant day. At 20:30 it was almost clear with a crescent moon high in the sky to the west, dry and mild. First thing this morning it was calm, cool , dry and a clear sky. It's still mainly clear but some light cloud coming in and holding the sun back. The glass is up slightly at 1004mb and still rising slowly but this might change shortly as a low is moving up the east coast from Europe. The forecast is for early sun but clouding over during the morning and by 13:00 rain is forecast. The wind starts light in the SE but soon gets into the east and later NE giving a high of 14C and a low of 10C with a wind chill of -2C all day after it rises slightly to moderate. The outlook is for a cooler day tomorrow and then back to similar weather to what we are having now, still slightly cooler than the average. The Shipping Forecast is giving very strong winds in the low moving up from the continent. They may play a part in tomorrow's weather.
06:30. A cool walk under a mostly clear sky but the sun hasn't really broken through the cloud in the east and the forecast is looking accurate at the moment. Still, we had a dry walk and that's the main thing for me! On with the day....

The forecast yesterday was accurate, the rain came in at 13:30 and at 20:30 it was still raining. First thing this morning we have overcast and light rain still. The glass fell slowly all day and is on 995mb this morning. The forecast is for a dull wet day, rain at any time. We start with a light east wind but it is backing and will soon be in the north, by 13:00 it will be in the west and moderate. It gives us a cooler high of 11C and a low of 9C. The wind chill will get to -3C in the afternoon. Not a cheerful day! This is the affect of the low pressure system from Europe travelling up the North sea. It will be brighter and warmer tomorrow but not much. We are stuck in this colder than average weather until the Jet Stream moves back up north. Definitely not Flaming June!
05:55. A pleasant dry walk. It's mild and almost calm, just a very light NE wind. The forecast says this wind is backing into the north and there are some very black threatening cloud out in that direction. If, as I suspect, the forecast is accurate, that's where our weather will come from as the wind changes. That could mean heavy rain.... We shall no doubt see if that is the case in the next couple of hours.

A cold wet day on the whole but I have no doubt that the constant light rain was doing good. At 20:30 we had broken cloud and a light breeze but it was dry. First thing this morning it was mostly clear and dry and it is the same now, the sun is coming in already from the East. The glass has risen to 1013mb and is still rising. The forecast is for a bright sunny day with occasional cloud and even a chance of a short light shower around the middle of the day. The constant light/moderate west wind will give a high of 14C and a low of 7C with a wind chill that starts at -3C but decreases during the day. A better day!
06:15. A pleasant walk on a cool morning in a significant breeze under a mainly clear sky that was allowing full sun to come in from the east. The foliage in Valley Gardens is beautiful in the low light and the birds are singing their hearts out.
My water gauge in Butts, the Corn Mill Dam, has a good miller's flow of clear water that tells me two things, that there was more rain yesterday than I supposed and that the ground is moist enough to allow most of the water to tun off gently. I think Mother Nature has had her drink! Now we need some sun but the outlook is for more of this unseasonably cool weather. The Jet stream must still be diverted to the south......

Countryfile weather shows that jet stream is a bit more complex than diverted south, it is actually an extended 's' more or less over UK, giving a high system to the north, blocking lows from the south, which are giving a mix of warmer thundery downpours, odd sunny intervals and consistant and heavy rain mainly in the south, progressing up and down the UK as it wheels around. Basically a washout of the long sunny days, most hay cutting though I understand around Colne to Todmorden was completed by last week, so it is going to be the odd food crops that might get hammered- but most these days are in polytunnel controlled conditions.

Almost Balmy yesterday afternoon. At 20:00 we had calm dry weather under broken cloud. This morning first thing it is clear calm and cool with good dawn light in the east. The glass is steady on 1015mb. The forecast is for a re-run of yesterday with a bit more cloud. The wind starts V Light in the west but backs to NE by the end of the day and increases slowly to moderate giving a high of 15C and a low of 9C. Very little wind chill until late in the day it rises to -2C. Another low is on its way up from Europe and the outlook is cooler and wetter for the next few days.
06:00. A very pleasant walk on a calm, fresh morning under an almost clear and improving sky. At first the sun was blocked by heavier cloud out in the east but it has got high enough now to get over the top of it and we have full sun. It's a good start to the day and the birds are enjoying it.

Yesterday was cooler and more dull and by early evening rain had come in. At 20:00 we had light rain from and overcast sky with a light east wind. This morning first thing it was the same but dry and cool. We have had our walk and though cool with a light east wind I decided a heavy padded shirt was enough. It felt like rain and by the time we got into Valley Gardens light isolated drops of rain were falling. By the time we got home it had increased to the point where the roads and roofs were almost wet but it wasn't serious. The glass is steady on 1014mb. The forecast is not cheerful! We are promised a dull overcast day with rain at almost any time. The moderate NE wind is constant and gives us a high of 10C and a low of 8C with a -3C wind chill for most of the day. Thankfully the outlook is for an improvement and we can expect it to get a bit warmer.

Nothing good about yesterday, the forecast was correct, it was dull and rained on and off all day. At 20:30 it was overcast, cold and raining. Same this morning first thing and it hasn't changed. The glass is down on just under 1010mb. The forecast is for a similar day to yesterday, dull, wet and cold. The wind is a constant moderate NW and gives a high of 13C and a low of 10C with a -2C wind chill all day. Definitely not Flaming June!
06:15. We went out later this morning but even so the outside light came on, it's many weeks since that happened at this time of the morning so that gives you an idea of how dull it was. I say was because as we walked round it came lighter and the steady rain stopped. The Corn Mill Dam in Butts tells the story about the last 24 hours of rain, it's roaring over the cill about 9" deep, a very heavy flow for this time of year. The outlook isn't promising, a new low is expected in the North Sea this morning and there are gale warnings for many shipping areas not just in the North. Don't break out the sun cream and shorts yet!

I can't think of anything good to say about yesterday. At 20:30 it was still cold, overcast and raining. This morning first thing it was the same and hasn't changed since apart from the fact that there is some clearer sky out to the East. The glass is down on 999mb and still falling. The forecast is for another dull wet day. The wind is slightly lighter starting in the NE and backing slowly all day to finish as a westerly tonight. It gives us a high of 12C and a low of 9C with an average of a -2C wind chill all day. The outlook is for similar weather but warming up slowly perhaps.
I looked up the weather in Labrador which is on roughly the same latitude as us. Their forecast for today is a high of 19C with rain in the morning but sunny spells in the afternoon. We are definitely experiencing an unusual spell of weather, it isn't our imagination!
06:05. We had a cool but dry walk but everything is damp and Butts Beck is still running with a strong flow over the Corn Mill Dam. Not cheerful weather!

Yesterday was wet..... same at 20:00. Same this morning! Glass is up slightly on 1000mb, the low must be heading North. The forecast is rain all morning, less rain afterwards. The mainly southerly wind is light to moderate all day giving a high of 12C and a low of 9C with an average -2C wind chill. Outlook is for a slow but damp warm up.

Again it was wet and at 20:00 we still had serous rain. First thing this morning it was calm, broken cloud and it was dry! Still the same and there is dawn light in the East, looks like a slight improvement. The glass is up slightly on 1004mb. The forecast is for it to be dry with some sun until mid-afternoon and then a chance of some showers but still bright. The constant southerly wind is light to moderate and gives a high of 15C and a low of 7C with a -2C wind chill, that falls to -1C later in the day as the wind lessens. A much better day! The outlook is for similar weather, it looks as though the cold spell may be ended. Good! We can all cheer up a bit now....
06:15. A dry walk on a mild calm morning, a great improvement! The sun is trying to break through the broken cloud but hasn't managed it yet. There is a good miller's flow over the Corn Mill Dam and this morning it's as clear as gin. All told a better morning, the birds have judged it so, they are singing their hearts out!

Slight improvement yesterday but we got rain again in the afternoon. At 20:00 it was dry and mild. First thing this morning it was mild, calm and we had broken cloud allowing sight of the full moon. (isn't it funny how the weather can change with the moon.....) Since then the cloud is more broken and we have deep red dawn light coming in and making all the stone it hits look rosy. The glass is up slightly on 1007mb. The forecast is for a dry start with broken cloud and some sun but by mid-morning it will cloud over and we can expect showers, some even thundery later on. However there will be sunny interludes. The constant southerly light to moderate wind gives us a high of 15C and a low of 12C with a wind chill of -2C for most of the day. It's an improvement and growy.... we still need some summer!
06:05. A cool but pleasant walk on a dry morning. Light breeze and low sun breaking through from the East lighting the foliage of trees from underneath, it always makes them look good! I note how the trees are loving the damp weather, in particular the saplings that were planted in Valley Gardens are thriving, they have had a really good start and so far no moron has attacked them.... Unlike the litter bin just inside the Gisburn Road entrance. Why on earth would someone think it was a good thing to kick it until it broke off from its concrete footing? They must be wired up differently than most of us.

Not as much rain as forecast yesterday and no thunder, a better day. At 20:30 it was dry with a light breeze and broken cloud. First thing this morning it was the same but since then the overcast has thickened and we have light rain. The glass is steady on 1007mb. The forecast is for it to be dry with sunny spells until about noon then some rain until teatime and sunny spells thereafter. The constant southerly wind is moderate all day giving us 16C and a low of 10C tonight with a -2C wind chill all day. (Later at 04:50. Some broken cloud is coming in from the SW, it is still raining lightly but there is hope for our walk!)
05:45. I put my waterproof coat on but shortly after we set off it stopped raining, a few minutes later it started again but it's very light and more clear sky is coming in from the NW. We can perhaps look forward to a dry morning!

Unfortunately for my washing we had intermittent showers all day yesterday. It was not raining at 20:30 but wet after a recent shower. This morning first thing we had an almost clear sky but with scattered high cloud. By the time when we went out for our morning walk the sky was almost totally clear, we had some light wind and full sun but it was cool. The glass is up slightly to 1009mb. The forecast is for a dry bright and mainly sunny day. The constant west wind is light to moderate and gives a high of 16C and a low of 10C with a wind chill of -2C. This is an improvement and looking at the outlook we can expect more of the same, warming slightly and with only the chance of a light shower. We are doing far better than the SE and E who are expecting more heavy rain storms to add to the serious flooding.

Yesterday's weather turned out much better than forecast, a very pleasant warm sunny afternoon. At 20:00 it was overcast but mild and dry. First thing this morning it was overcast, calm and we had light rain. It is still exactly the same now. The glass is down on 1004mb. The forecast is for rain until about 09:00 and improving after that to a sunny day. The constant WNW wind starts light and slowly increase as the day progresses giving a high of 16C and a low of 10C with a wind chill that starts at 0C and slowly increases with the wind to-3C later.
I haven't seen the reports for the SE yet but we certainly had nothing like the severe weather promised down there overnight. The outlook is for a cooler dry day tomorrow and then much warmer and on the whole dry weather for the rest of the week. Good!
06:15. Not a lot to say, cool, steady light rain from a completely overcast sky and a light but chilly NW wind. Could have been a lot worse, I see that Eastbourne had over a thousand lightning strikes last night.... Not much sleep for the Crumblies!

Overall a nice day yesterday. At 20:30 it was mild, a light breeze and dry. First thing this morning it was the same with broken cloud but a few spots of rain. It's dry now but lots of broken cloud. The glass is down a touch at just over 1003mb. The forecast gives rain until after 08:00 and then clearing to sunny spells. The constant W wind is moderate and gives a high of 14C and a low of 9C with a -3C wind chill at times so a cooler day. Tomorrow is as cool but more sun and after that we are set to warm up a bit. It's the longest day tomorrow and then we start the long slide into winter.....
05:50. Waterproof coat but dry walk. That about sums it up. The sun is trying to break through in the east but failing as even heavier overcast rolls in from the west. No rain yet but it looks likely! Cooler morning but I have had worse walks.....

Chilly wind yesterday but if you were sheltered it was hot in the sun! At 20:30 last night we had broken cloud and it was dry. First thing this morning almost calm and it's clear, I can see the stars! The glass is rising and up on 1010mb. The forecast is for a much brighter day. They give a chance of a shower in the next hour but we'll see. The wind is a constant light to moderate westerly giving a high of 15C and a low of 5C tonight with a -2C wind chill most of the day. If the last few days are anything to go by it will be warmer than this. The outlook is for it to get warmer until the next low comes in an about 3 days. Today is the longest day of the year.
06:45. A pleasant walk down to the butcher's. The forecast rain didn't happen and early sun was coming in from the east. The thicker cloud that did come in from the west has blocked the sun for the time being but I don't think this will persist for long. A promising morning and the glass is still rising.

It was a nice day but always that sneaky wind.... Same at 20:30 last night, bright and dry. First thing this morning it is clear, calm and getting light early, looking good. The glass is up again on 1018mb. The forecast is for a dry bright day, some scattered cloud but lots of sun. The wind has swung into E or SE and will be lighter than yesterday giving a high of 20C and a low of 11C with very little chill. In short, it looks like a perfect day! The outlook is for similar, even warmer weather but unusually with the chance of thunderstorms.....

Yesterday was good but dull at times as the cloud came over. at 20:30 it was calm, mild and fair, quite a lot of cloud about. This morning first thing I could see the stars but there was scattered cloud, mild and dry. More cloud now but it is calm, mild and dry. The glass is down slightly at 1016mb. The forecast is for a more clouded day with the chance of rain and thunder this evening and through the night. The constant E wind is light becoming moderate later and gives us a high of 17C and a low of 13C with a -2C wind chill later as the wind rises slightly. The outlook is for similar but warmer weather.

Very balmy yesterday afternoon. At 20:30 it was mild calm and we had light rain but no thunder that I noticed. This morning first thing, dry, calm and overcast. Just looked out and we have had a very light shower. The glass is down on 1012mb. The forecast is for an overcast but dry morning and rain with possible thunder from noon onwards. The constant east wind is light and gives a high of 19C and a low of 15C with negligible wind chill. More growy weather!

Yesterday was a dull day and threatened rain but in the end all we had was a couple of very light showers. At 20:30 it was overcast, mild calm and dry. Same this morning first thing and it has not changed, very uniform overcast and no dawn light in the east. The glass is up a touch on 1005mb. The forecast is very boring, overcast and dry all day except for a chance of a shower late morning. The Yellow thunder and rain warnings have been removed, the focus is now on the SE I think. The constant easterly wind is light and gives a high of 16C and a low of 11C with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for brighter warmer weather. Extreme hot weather warnings all over Europe, some as high as 44C. Records are expected to be broken....
