I'm not suggesting for one minute that cancer is a danger but if it gets the doctor moving it is worth it. Stanley this is probably the last condition I would think off. I can't imagine Sue being a whisky swigging heavy smoker who as a sideline indulges in both clay pipes and chewing tobacco. I'd go along with the first diagnosis of heat sensitive gums which can be quite painful.

Best of luck with it Sue. The salt water can't do any harm.
Just seen your post Ken. I agree but I was suggesting ways to get movement out of the doctor.

This pic sums up this morning. Add in a good deep clean of the lathe and that's it. I shall not be exerting myself for the rest of the day.

I wish you the very best of luck Sue!
Shed is still hot after yesterday's sun, I might decline going in there and suffering even though today will be cooler.
Paint drying well.....
07:30. I have improved the day by doing my weekly Co-op shop as soon as they opened and it was quiet. Might just pop into the shed but it will only be a gesture.

Morning

First thing yesterday I caught up on my washing and got three loads on the line before we went out. We had a lovely lunch out with a nice drive up into the hills with the roof down on the car. We had just got settled on an outdoor table with a gentle breeze ( normally a howling gale up on the moors there) when we had a short sharp shower and had to make a run for under cover. We managed to get one of the two remaining tables so we didn’t have to face the problem of two families of different families sharing a table inside. The rain stopped as fast it started but we would have got drenched. We stayed where we were just in case. Nothing more than a salad was called for but typically the men had fish and chips. We didn’t need to eat again until late and then it was just fruit and melon.

It was even 26 degrees up there at the Shepherds rest and later hit 31 in our back garden. We retreated inside with windows open and fans on. Bob went in his workshop where it was cool and I went in my sewing room with the overhead fan on. I sent my apologies for pilates at 8.00 pm and instead we shared a cold bottle of rose wine in the garden which by this time was cooler than in the house .

Today is pilates at 10.00 which I will do as the lounge is nice and cool in the morning. I shall then have much needed shower and take the day as it comes depending on the heat level.

Have a good day everyone

18-22 forecast, no rain but cloudy. May get a walk in. If we go high it is usually a cool breeze.

Nice cool breeze here Sue, we are off on a circular around Salterforth and Foulridge with a coffee stop at Cafe Cargo. Can you share a table outside with friends?

Only short walks for me and no cafes! I've done an hour in the shed as well as Co-p shopping. All the castings cleaned of overpaint and polished except the flywheel and crank. Fiddly work and that will do tomorrow.

We had a lovely walk too, about 5.7 miles and the coffee at Foulridge was very welcome. Sue, we use the Viewranger app on our phones which is very useful.

My app ( map my run) on my phone drops out too often, so I track where we have been when we get home on an app called FOOTPATH

Hard to see when that's going to get better Sue. Covid is ruling lives at the moment. So much conflicting evidence.
I too am not liking this muggy weather. I an sat with the door open hoping it will cool the houser down a bit, the heat his starting to soak into the core. Even the front room was 74F last night. My defence is to do as little as possible so no assumptions about doing anything today apart from a bit of gentle flywheel polishing perhaps.
Good thing is I am sleeping like a log at night.

Morning

Well last Friday we decided we wouldn’t go to France as we suspected quarantine was going to come in. That was not our issue. The issue was that with quarantine would come with reciprocal quarantine in France and advice not to travel by UK Government. The next implication would be fewer travelling so the ferries would stop and possibly a problem getting home. The latter has not happened yet but we suspect it will. I am a member of an online group for people with second homes in France. I was name called and all sorts last week when I said this on the site. No one would listen. I tried to explain once bitten etc, but the battering continued. That is one site I shall now be leaving. However we are glad we made our decision, hopefully we will get there sometime before the winter, or we will have to be asking friends to check everything is ok

Today is cloudy and cooler. I have dance exercise this morning, then I will have a shower before we go out for a walk when our cleaner , Joanne, arrives. We don’t want to stay in when she is here. We have decided to make a sandwich and take it with us, as we intend doing something a little longer. This afternoon I shall do some sewing.

Have a good day everyone

Ignore them Sue and leave them to find out for themselves. You are acting sensibly and have avoided even more difficulties. I wonder how long it will be like this, I am sure you have been thinking that. The answer will probably hinge on an affective vaccine.

Less than an hour in the shed. I have finished cleaning the overpainting off all the castings now, cleaned the bench and put a clean tablecloth back on.I have my beloved straight edge and I'm ready now to plunge into making all my other parts for the engine and fitting them. Alles in ordnung!
Now for a cool walk on the Green with Jack and breakfast. The universe is unfolding as it should.

I have left the group. They were still arguing amongst themselves when I went on as to wether travel had been permitted since lockdown. Of course it was it was on the exempt list, but...oh no it wasn’t pantomime scenario going on . Some people eh! I am afraid France is full of Brits like that. We have met plenty over the years. Plenty of nice ones too thank goodness.

Good decision Sue I reckon. There is enough grief swilling about at the moment without indulging in manufacturing your own and it sounds as though that's what's going on there.
