Re: GOOD TV
I watched two episodes last night Kev. Well up to the usual standard but a bit too much on the love interest between Robin and Cormoran....

I've been re-watching some videos on Youtube on Primitive Lives. Start with THIS and seek out the others. Fascinating, so much skill!

Re: GOOD TV
New Channel 5 production of "All Creatures Great and Small". James was introduced to "Tricky Woo" in last nights second episode. Broughton Hall was the shooting location for her Ladyships residence. The series was shot in Grassington and a number of other locations around the dales.

Is it not repeated in the evening on a different day? We have always watched it in the evening.

Re: GOOD TV
Actually, I'm not sure it is a new series now I come to think about it. Although it claims to be 'New' I think we have already had series 5. It started as a daytime programme but has slipped into primetime evening slots more recently.
The Radio Times says it is a new series... modern life is so complicated.

Re: GOOD TV
There was a report on it in yesterday's PE and it mentioned Mrs Peel, the only Bond girl that ever got him to the altar.

Re: GOOD TV
For the record Mrs Peel (Emma) was John Steeds sidekick in the Avengers. James Bond married the Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo (known as Tracy). She met an untimely death before the end of the film, (On Her Majesties Secret Service). George Lazenby was a rather wooden Bond in that one, hence he only got one go at the role.

Re: GOOD TV
Wendy, if you want to see how chaotic repeats can get have a look at BBC Sounds. Some repeats are marked as such, others not. Some have the original date, others have the current date. They're repeating programmes that are only months old. It's a madhouse!

Re: GOOD TV
As Larry Scher told me over 40 years ago in LA when the old low definition channels were given away to anyone who wanted to use them, "The problem Stanley is content. Anyone with an archive is on a winner". That has proved to be dead right.

Re: GOOD TV
I'm surprised that no one was injured! I don't like the re-starts on the grid, they may add to the entertainment but look very dangerous. The possibility of having reverse grid order starts has reared its ugly head again, surely that is a recipe for disaster, it becomes more like a travelling circus than a competition.

Yesterday was certainly a circus Wendy. It makes one wonder if that track will ever be used again! Mind you, it was exciting.

Re: GOOD TV
David Tennant is a dead ringer for Nielson, he doesn't normally do menacing or bad but it does look as if it could be one to watch.
I noticed Charles Dance is getting good at half hour acting slots.

Re: GOOD TV
I got one of these yesterday. Roku Offered at £19.99 on ebay, and being a sucker for gadgets, I couldn't resist. I'm usually behind the curve with this sort of stuff, so forgive me if you've all got the capability already.
Well I set it up eventually and had a play last night. The jury is still out, and for a while it was favourite to go back in the box and on the shelf next to the spiralizer. However I persisted, and it's looking more promising.
I managed to play my personal Youtube videos on the TV which was good, and started to watch a video of a lecture from Durham University by Noam Chomsky- but he thinks sea levels will rise by 10 metres and we're all doomed, so I soon gave that up. He has 38 honorary degrees but what does he know?
They made me give a debit card details to get on, but they'll struggle to get any more money from me.

Re: GOOD TV
I wouldn't dare do anything like that! I know what you mean about doom laden TV. That's why I can't watch things like Attenborough's 'Extinction'. I am a coward and want to hide in the past. I'd recommend the Irish heritage movies on Youtube, old blokes at 40 with donkeys cutting peat....
