Today I shall be Mainly...

Cazza is on the left...
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Hubby asked me what he could do for Valentines Day.
I had to think long and hard. I hate gifts and do not trust the motives behind gifts.
So I came to a decision of “toast in bed” on Valentines Day, and declared my decision.
He went quiet for quite a while before he turned to me and whispered “What do you want on your toast on Valentines Day?”
Had to think long and hard but I finally whispered back...”Peanut Butter”.
Should be lovely.

Jeepers Maz, thats a life and a half, twice over. I wish you great happiness and calm in your present life.Marilyn wrote: ↑11 Feb 2021, 08:04 Well here I am, aged 14...back when I believed in the world. Had recently started living with my 5th set of foster parents. ( they didn’t work out. Got an official message from them about 30 years ago stating I must not challenge their estate or expect to benefit...)
This was before I married, stumbled through Nursing, became a Mum, divorced, became a single mum with two jobs, remarried, became a step-mum of three, became a foster parent, etc.

I enjoy a quiet life, Sue.
I eat well, sleep well and exercise every day...it is the best way to live. ( and I choose not to harbour too many memories). I live a happy life...

True, Panbiker...though we were separated as kids, along with 4 other siblings.
I was under 5 years old when we were put in the kids home...Cazza would have been coming up 8. We were in different sections of the home as they did not class me as “school age”.

Was that in the UK or over in Oz? I was in school not too long after I turned four years old. I still remember seeing the headmistress at Gisburn Road who asked me a few questions and then agreed I was ready to start.

What a pity the original site data was lost. The Maz and Cathy story was part of it.

Met Cathy, my mother and other siblings again when I was about 12 years old. ( never saw Dad as he had passed away).
We never returned home and we never lived together. I remained in welfare until I reached 18 years, though I was living independently since gaining entry to Nursing when I was 17.
This all happened in Oz, Sue, after our parents had this bright idea to come here for a new life. We have been here 57 years.
It is not all doom and gloom...the weather is better here

Morning
Its a cold one . Not much to report. I did as I said yesterday, we walked, did our hobbies and our jigsaw. We arrived at Dover on our virtual walk and appear to be at the quayside. I think it will be a long wait for a ferry
I finished assessment 4 of the Celts yesterday so will probably start chapter 5 .
Have a good day, stay warm

Complex? Yes...sad? Not necessarily. Life is what you make it.

Possibly my only legacy has been slight OCD tendencies. I raised a son with the same very mild tendencies. We laugh about it often. We understand each other and have had lots of giggles about it, neither of us find it presents barriers to
our life, we are both just a bit “particular”. ( we are both very clean in the kitchen for example). It made me a good nurse!
When I met my current hubby, I found him unacceptably “Bohemian”. His children shared clothes, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, cutlery, razors etc. It really bothered me. It was a big adjustment.
I had to make an acceptable level of order out of total chaos!

Shed went well this morning, I managed almost two hours before my knees rebelled, they don't like this cold weather!

This was closing time, spot the difference. All have rounded ends on their spigots and one has a curve on the swell of the breech. I shall do the other two tomorrow. Breakfast now and then second sleep.... Things could be worse.

Yes as you say, life is what you make it. It is something I live by and thoroughly believe in. A person whose life goes as planned is a rarity indeed, a person can still have a good life despite that by making the best of every situation you find your self in. I try to do that , hopefully, most of the time I succeed.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Today is more shaping hard metal in the shed. Very carefully I should add.
It looks like another good day for a walk but my face was numb when I came in yesterday afternoon after about twenty minutes in the wind, it was truly bitter!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
Bacup market this morning, its going to be rather cold out there so I think extra clothes layers will be called for. The sky is looking colourful, and it promises to be another nice day if bitterly cold. Yesterday we did a 4.5 mile walk in a very strong wind . It was -2 with a windchill of -7. The milage took us to 21% of our virtual walk and it looks like we have to walk the distance across the channel, 32 miles on the route we are on. Being the sea there are no images on the google map for us to view and no land marks to judge by. Dance exercise, craft meeting and walk filled the day.
I have no plans for the day, other than a bit of sewing to finish. I could do with some sort of task to get my teeth in to but nothing jumps to mind. As I write I have a streaming nose, as I did yesterday. It can’t be a cold as we have not seen anybody since market day last week, and we were wearing masks then. Its a bit early to be hay fever, so goodness knows what is causing it. I don’t feel ill just a very drippy nose .
Have a good day , and stay warm .

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Runny nose.... I have had one for most of the winter Sue. It came on in October when I stopped smoking.

I have done all I can with the shape. Now I can move on with actually making the carronades. Very cold in the shed even with CH in there, it's only a small radiator. My knees don't like being cold. Nice and warm in here...

Could be the last cold morning in the shed but I shall try for at least an hour as I move forward with the Carronades. Otherwise a quiet day ignoring the fact that it's my birthday.
