Re: GOOD TV
One of my offspring upgraded his Amazon Firestick so I got the old one. Got access to Prime Video and Disney+ now and the channel 4 on demand stuff (and lots of other stuff that is still to be explored). The only down side is the number of remotes I have now, the Freesat remote turns on the TV so I only had two, the other for the surround sound. In addition I now need the Firestick remote and the original TV remote to switch between HDMI sources, I'll be needing a bigger shelf soon

We have a Harmony programmable remote that does everything.....a total mystery to me of course!Big Kev wrote: ↑25 Dec 2021, 12:23 One of my offspring upgraded his Amazon Firestick so I got the old one. I might look into an 'all in one', might make life easier as it means I would only knock one remote off the arm of the sofaWendyf wrote: ↑25 Dec 2021, 13:03We have a Harmony programmable remote that does everything.....a total mystery to me of course!Big Kev wrote: ↑25 Dec 2021, 12:23 One of my offspring upgraded his Amazon Firestick so I got the old one. Re: GOOD TV
I put all the other remotes away now and then but for some reason they find their way out again! The Harmony we have has now been discontinued so will soon be unsupported.

Re: GOOD TV
I would highly recommend Clarkson's Farm, on Amazon Prime. It certainly shows a different side of Jeremy Clarkson and highlights how difficult farming really is. The language is a little colourful at times but I found the series entertaining, informative and funny.

The Chess on www.chess.com is good. Yesterday was the World Rapid, and today it's the Blitz.
It's to chess what 20/20 is to Cricket.
The commentators are Mr Hammer and Ms Krush. Yes really. It's almost poetic. . . .

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds on Sky Arts, this was the second generation of the stage show,. I've seen both shows, first generation at the Manchester Arena and the second at the Leeds Arena. Not quite the same on the big screen TV and surround sound but it was good to watch again.

Re: GOOD TV
Susan recommended 'A Very British Scandal' so I watched it last night. Well made and acted but what a bleak tale. I found myself contrasting their lives with what I was doing at the same time. No comparison of course and it reminded me that the same thing is happening now. The Jeffrey Epsteins still have their private jets, Look at some of the yachts moored at Monaco and Dubai.... It is a very unequal world.

A feast of Dylan's music on Sky Arts now. A 30 year celebration concert filmed in 1992.
Re: GOOD TV
The Tourist has the makings, looks full of twists and turns.

Re: GOOD TV
Stay Close, the Netflix adaptation of the Harlen Coben novel is quite enjoyable, previous adaptations have been very watchable but lost a bit in translation as they were dubbed English from Polish. This one was filmed in North West England, I've recognised Blackpool, St Helens, Formby and Wilmslow so far.

Re: GOOD TV
We too are watching the Tourist on demand. Plot thickens with every episode.
I will say one thing which won't give anything away. Who the hell would want to live in the outback of Australia? Dream walkers apart of course as it's all their land.

Plenty of people do and they love it. Humans are very adaptable, look at Alaska, I think I'd rather have the Never Never.
