Morning

After a morning art lesson and a sandwich there we drove over to Filey, stopping once for coffee and a loo break. It was an easy journey but we hit every sort of weather. It was sunny and cold when we got here and still is this morning. It is forecast to remain so today and may be our best day. Barbara , Bill, Bob and I are walking the coastal path and seashore today. Wendy and Keith will take a stroll along the beach . The apartment is beautiful and has been tastefully renovated restoring many original features.

Not much else to report. I hope Stanley you feel a lot better when you wake this morning. Try and have a good day

See Covid Corner Sue. I had a lousy night thanks to bum advice from the pharmacist. No more Night Nurse sryle medication for me. I am following your advice Sue, lots of rest and drinking water. Improved no end over last night!

Doesn’t have to be just water but avoid strong tea and coffee as the caffeine in them act as diuretics, you need to keep your fluid levels up to replace what you lose by nasal secretions and sweating

Yesterday we spent a couple of hours litter picking up and down Skipton Old Road and today we plan to do a bit more down one of the local lanes towards Lothersdale. It was a bit scary out out there with very few cars slowing their speed. Some unimaginative drivers don't give you an inch if you are standing on the verge, they can't think what it's like to have a vehicle passing close by at 60 or 70mph.
Verge....that's an interesting word!

Morning

My grandchildren go out litter picking with their parents Wendy. When Briony was 9 she had a picker for her birthday and often goes out with her Dad. and one evening last week, Erin went out with her Mum for an evening walk, with bag and picker. I am very impressed with them. All three of them are well aware of environmental issues related to pollution and its a shame there aren’t more like them .

I hope you are beginning to feel more normal,Stanley. Just keep up the treatment. I notice you were busy writing during the night when most of us are sleepIng but thats a good sign.

We had a good day yesterday, a 4 mile circular stroll with Barbara and Bill along the cliff path in one direction and back along the beach. Wendy is unable to walk more than a hundred yards or there abouts so she and Keith tootled off to the RSPB site further a long the coast. There she was provided with a mobility scooter thus They were really able to wander round easily. They were going to bring Wendy's mobility scooter but the battery would not charge.

Today will be a relaxed affair, wandering around the cliff top gardens and the town. We have Sunday lunch at a local pub booked for 1.00 pm , and the rest of the day will depend on what time we get back. Its due to be warmer today but not as sunny.

Have a good day all.

It's dangerous. Get the Council to lend you two 'slow' signs?
Sue, just seen your post. I went back to bed for three hours and woke feeling hungry so I have called it breakfast time. Confession, I have made a small coffee as well.....

Morning

Two hour trip home, it was a good run despite heavy rain on the M62. We had a good day yesterday and enjoyed a bit of non food shopping in Whitby, plus a walk round the abbey and museum.

My appointment today is 11.15 pm , the letter says to allow 4 hours in case there is a follow up investigation after the mammogram. As usual my stomach asks if there will be a cafe close by to have a bite of lunch. We hope to be back in Filey in time for the evening meal. I am just going to do a lateral flow test. Have a good day all

Lovely Sue. Glad that went well apart from the cafe.....
I started the day by trying to get my printer to work, it will do a scan and print it but is not accepting jobs from the computer. I have done all the usual things, jiggling connections etc. but no joy. Any suggestions?
Later.... tried new cartridge and new connecting cable. Still no print. I despair!
Later.... Despite despairing I kept worrying away at the problem. I eventually found how to access the printer through the Applications menu (For those who don't know, Ubuntu doesn't support the driver for my printer and I assume it works on a generic driver, whatever, you can't access any of the diagnostics in the driver.) I erased all the outstanding jobs and instructed the printer to start. That did it, back to normal operation now. I am a much happier bunny, I can print a complaint letter to British Gas now..... :biggrin2:

Morning

Thanks for your good wishes. Apparently my problem is very common, and, you will chuckle at this.....I may have pulled a muscle doing pilates/yoga. I have to keep a diary of when the pain starts and try to relate it to previous activity. I shall keep on with the exercise but certainly do the monitoring.

Thankfully the weather here in Filey has been better than expected with very little rain though the wind is strong. We noted on our travels that the rain started at about Cleckheaton on our way home and stopped in the same place on our way back. We did a different route back going all tge way down the M62 and taking the Bridlington turn off. I wanted to visit there, as I have distant memories of a donkey ride on the beach either at Filey or Bridlington when I was about 3. I I distinctly remember wide flat sand and my Dad parked on the beach, but some how Filey did not jolt the memory. As soon as I saw Bridlington beach and the sand dunes I knew that was the place as i have a distinct feeling of sand hills and grass . It was a real nostalgia trip. It cost 6d.

Today is the start of Scarborough fair so we are going to pay a visit, then after lunch Barbara, Wendy and I doing a bit or retail therapy. The weather is due to be ok apart from 2-3 pm . Have a good day all. Take care Ian and Stanley, lots of fluid Ian, rest, paracetomol, and steam inhalations......Stanley knows the drill :laugh5:
