Morning

We are in for a wet day, the first since we came. Its a bit more retail therapy, as many of the shops were shut yesterday. Then its lunch at the apartment followed by a trip to an RSBP bird sanctuary along the coast. This evening, our last one, we are eating out after packing. We have to be out by 9.30 in the morning. Yesterday afternoon we visited the Scarborough fair museum. What fun. A collection of old cars, steam engines, farm equipment and fairground rides and sideshows. If you have watched Jane Macdonalds MY YORKSHIRE its the one she went to. Well worth the trip

Have a good day all

Stanley, if you’re not going far, take some hot tea with you. Both together will help you to feel better.

Improvement continues.... I am not pushing my luck, I shall try to walk twice today, that's a big enough adventure at the moment.
Later at 05:45.... I have a chicken in the oven, I've considered the shed and rejected it. I think breakfast and then bed are favourites..... :biggrin2:

Morning

Its a thick frost this morning, I wonder how my seedlings are in the greenhouse, though I think many will not be up yet. ItsBacup market this morning then its going to be a busy day. Julia arrives with the girls tomorrow evening, staying till after lunch on Thursday, so I have to sort my sewing room out so Julia can sleep in there and I have to convert the double bed in the spare room to two singles. I did manage to get most of my post holiday washing done yesterday evening but have towels to do today.

We had a great trip to Robin hoods Bay yesterday morning. The tide was going out so we had a fascinating walk along the beach collecting unusual stones, followed by lunch in a very old unusual cafe. You could picture the smugglers gathering in there. We decided on a long leisurely drive home across the moors to complete our holiday.

Glad you are feeling better Stanley. The walks will do you good

Problem with no shed is that I don't sleep when I go back to bed! But I am slowly getting back into my stride.

It has been an interesting morning.... I have cooked a chicken, dealt with the gravy and all is now in the Fridge.
While that was happening I took my courage in both hands and glued my sleeves to the inner liner at two points in each sleeve, on the seams and then after leaving the glue to cure I reinforced that point with a few stitches to keep pressure off the glued joint.
I don't know whether that cures them but I have done my best......

This is the best proof I am better. I went in the shed for an hour and did a quick finishing job on the engine. Next job is make a carronade for Margaret to replace the one she has taken back for Alex my great grandson.
I'm glad I made myself go in there.....

Morning

Beds made up, sewing room tidied, washing and ironing done so I am all ready for our visitors. Briony is at a birthday party till 3.00 pm so we don’t expect them till about 6.30 pm. I shall prepare our usual Sunday roast for about 7.00 pm .

Bob will be at the park most of the day so I shall probably potter in the garden, the front needs a bit of a tidy up. Yesterday I made my usual raspberry cage with canes and string and tidied up my broad beans which had fallen sideways because of the strong winds we have had . My seeds and seedlings survived the cold night, not many had come up thank goodness.

So a quiet day by myself, have a good day all

Morning

Well the house is buzzing with people and I mean people not children. The girls have changed so much since Christmas and are very mature in their behaviour. Eve is much taller than me and obviously takes after her dad for height, and Briony is catching her up. This morning Julia, Eve and Bob are walking in to Rochdale to go to the bank, post office etc and will probably do a long circuit back. Briony and I are going to have a little art session. There are a couple of techniques I want to show her that are too difficult on zoom .

We are having our main meal at lunch time and will potter for an hour or so, then we will all go up to Preston to see Claire. The plan is to then walk and collect Erin from holiday club, spend a couple of hours with them and the girls can share a pizza for tea. We will return home after the rush hour.

Rain is forecast later, have a good day all.

It sounds like another full day Sue! It would be a bit too much for me.... I don't know where you get the energy!

Not a very exciting story for you this morning. The main thing was to get in the shed and do almost two hours. So I decided to rescue a piece of rusty shafting from the scrap box. It's too big for a small lathe like this so I was working at the limit. Not a pretty sight but I shall do a bit more to it tomorrow and finish up with some very acceptable stock.

I think you will find I did not have the energy either Stanley. I was exhausted by lunch time, and more so by bed time. I did art and sewing with Briony and went rapidly from one activity to another all day. I missed my long sits and didn’t realise how much they recharged my batteries.

This morning we are going for a walk provided the forecast rain is not too heavy. Bob is cooking with Eve and I shall continue sewing with B. She is desperate to learn how to sew. Julia brought the sewing machine that I bought them all in January, so B and I are working through the instructions and making a simple cushion cover from a project book I bought her for Easter. I hope to go to my pilates and yoga this evening....for a rest :laugh5:

However its so nice for them to be here, 4 years is a long time for Julia not to be here. Have a good day, I am sure we will even if it is going to be very busy .

You're doing the same with your grandchildren as I do with mine.... In my case they won't be seamstresses but engineers! Mind you, daughter Janet was a very good engineer....
