I posted this for Sue.... Stanley.

Morning

I can’t get on the site again today so here is my daily diary.

Bob is off to an engineers meeting in Derby today so I shall be pottering at home. I shall plant out my beetroot plants , clear the washing and the ironing, clean the fridge out and finish packing. We are off to Coventry tomorrow and the ferry is on Monday night. We shall have a take away for tea tonight

Eve and Briony are both swimming at a big event in Birmingham which I think is put on the net so I will try and set that up and watch. Eve has become a good distance swimmer and swimming in the 1500. When I asked her why distance swimming she gave me a classic response of ´ who wants to swim fast ?´. Much the same reason why I used to run the half mile when at school.

So thats my day. Have a good one

Morning

This morning is rain 6 degrees feels like 3 . We are off to Coventry arriving mid to late afternoon. There is no rush as Julia is in Birmingham where both girls are swimming. Yesterday I watched Eve on You Tube and even did a couple of screen shots which I sent to her. She did a PB in her 400 m but today is the biggy, the 1500 m. I think B is doing Shorter races but fly and Individual Medley but I doubt we will see it as we will be driving though I will be able to get youtube on my ipad. We will take them all out for a meal this evening as Julia won’t have time or energy to cook. And its a bit of a birthday treat for Eve , who was 15 earlier in the week

Tomorrow we are spending the day in Winchester where we have another city mystery tour to do, the ferry is tomorrow night. The forecast for our 10 days in France is reaching 18 degrees but rain every single day so its a good job we have decorating to finish and people to go and see. Meanwhile I have a cold and actually feel quite rough. I presume I picked it up at pilates or at the cafe in Rochdale, I am not aware that Maxine had a cold. I shall probable sleep in the car going to Coventry.

I put all my veggie plants out yesterday and am keeping my fingers crossed. I have planted the beetroot and covered it with netting to protect from squirrels, the rest I kept in pots and just sunk them in the soil of the bigger pots which will eventually be their final destination.

Have a good day all

That will have annoyed you Sue! Hope it clears up all right.

Straight into muck shifting this morning and a straight half hour of heavy turning (for a small lathe....) Then finish and polish this leg, clear the chips up and dial the second half in with the indicator. I am ready to start again tomorrow and today, to have breakfast!

Oh no! That's the last thing you need. I'm sure Ed is doing a half marathon not a half mile. 🙄

I shall be in the shed this morning as usual working on my crankshafts. I think I might be frying my sweet potato chips later this morning. Looks like a wet day apart from the morning so I might not get out for a walk.

So no spilling cups of tea this morning? I hope it all works out nicely for you Sue!

Straight into turning and into the collar. The crankshaft is dimensionally accurate, like the first one, it still needs some polishing but that can come later. I have cleaned Mrs Harrison and dialled the third and last piece of stock in. I am ready to start turning again tomorrow. Now the job is breakfast!

First thought is whether Sue and Bob had a good crossing......

Straight hard turning again. After an hour I have one leg ready for polishing. Tomorrow I shall turn the stock round and turn the other leg. The matter in hand now is breakfast!

Morning

It's a beautiful morning in St Malo but not forecast to last. We should be at the house in a couple of hours after we have done some essential shopping..apparently Yves has cut the grass and Laetitia cleared the spiders. They are so kind

I shall be in the shed at 06:00 and hopefully I shall finish the major turning of the third crankshaft. Self inflicted pain I know but so much better than the built up shafts that Stuarts advise. It does me good to see them sat on the kitchen table, not many people would know how to make them.....
As far as I know there is nothing else on my schedule today after yesterdays activities. I shall enjoy an easy day with regular small hot meals.... That's not a bad prospect for an old cock!

Morning

It was a lovely day yesterday. After unpacking we managed to get some general garden tidying done so it looks a little better out there, to match the lovely neatly cut lawn that Yves has done. We arrived to flowers on the table and a small jigsaw gift each. We are known for always having a jigsaw on the go here. After tea we went round to see Laetitia and Yves and to thank them for how much they had done or us. We were in bed early, awaking after almost 9 hours sleep. Sadly my throat is still sore and I still have hardly any voice. I think I must have a throat infection and not a cold as I originally thought I was coming down with

Its raining at the moment but should stop within an hour or so , it may be a day for gardening or tackling the kitchen where the wall paper is only half stripped and the gloss paintwork only half done.

Other than that it is our 53 rd wedding anniversary.

Have a good day all
