Well - the Doctor from Manchester knew without hesitation that you bashed a 'pifiata' with a stick, but knew nowt about Bengal cats. Takes all sorts. I've googled it, and I'm still not sure.

Watched the fourth of six Red Eye last night, managed to get the subtitles on, which helps when they are whispering. It’s excellent, very watchable, don’t tell me the end or I may have to kill you.

Revisiting series 1 of The Responder because series 2 is now out so thought I'd have a quick recap.

Morning Mick! I am still reviewing Wallander. Good but gloomy plots and I wish Kenneth Branagh would have a shave!

I finished reviewing Wallander last night. I had forgotten that the series ends with him falling prey to Alzheimer's.....
Not exactly a bundle of laughs but very good acting. :biggrin2:

I am not a footy fan but watched most of the Final yesterday. I was glad to see United win, mainly because it's bad for a sport when one club is winning everything and that was how it was looking with City.

I have discovered that you can stream Midsomer Murders. That suits me, they have a clear plot, they're well acted and you can understand every word that is said.

Sunday evening on the BBC -

Country file was all about the D Day landings.
Antiques Roadshow is all about the D Day landings.

Why? It has nothing to do with either the countryside or antiques. I think it should have its own separate programme - and perhaps on the actual anniversary the 6th June?.

Film on Talking Pictures TV is all about the D Day landings.

I agree with you David but I think at the moment a lot of people are looking at what'/s going on in the world and needing some assurance that we might be capable of defending ourselves.
I think they are wrong to clutch at such straws, can you imagine a US headed by Trump again caring two hoots about our fate?
I am sticking to Midsomer Murders, a nice clean outcome every time..... :biggrin2:

Countryfile covered the vast areas of the countryside that were commandeered by the military for training and billeting during the build up to D Day, fairly relevant I would say.

Likewise, Atiques Roadshow featured memorabilia from the time, personal artefacts and awards. All too precious to put a price on so no valuations given. Again perfectly relevant to the genre of the show.

Why not on the 6th? Both programmes have long been scheduled for early evening on Sunday. I have no doubt that there will be more specific tribute type programmes on the actual anniversary.

FYI, our local Town Crier will be in action at 8am on the 6th of June with a proclamation for the townsfolk.
