Yesterday afternoon stayed sunny right up to nightfall. First thing this morning it was calm, overcast and dry and it hasn't changed since. The glass is steady on 1014mb and the forecast is for an overcast day but dry. The constant SE wind will be moderate and gives us a high of 12C and a low of 11C tonight with up to -3C wind chill during the day. The outlook is for an almost tropical 17C tomorrow but wet with it, the rest of the week will be cooler but still warmer than of late.

Yesterday afternoon was as per the forecast, overcast but dry. This morning we have rain.... The glass has fallen to 1000mb and the forecast is for rain all day. The SE wind starts moderate but then reduces all day giving us a high of 17C and a low tonight of 12C. We start the day with a wind chill of -3C but that soon falls to negligible as the wind drops. The outlook is for temperatures in the mid teens and brighter drier weather.

Same here Gloria.... It's funny but we have all this talk about temperatures into the 20s and yet here in Barlick it's a cold wet day with constant cold rain..... The CH sees it that way as well, it's still on!

I've cooked a cabbage, two onions and some apples and added that to the veggies. I have also fried my sweet potato chips. It's still gloomy and wet so I am going to bed for a dad nap..... :biggrin2:

Yesterday was wet and this morning we still have light rain.... The glass is down on 997mb but the forecast is for a dry day with plenty of sunny spells. The constant SW winds are moderate and give us a high of 15C and a low of 8C tonight with a -2C wind chill all day. It looks as though this is the pattern for the next 6 days......

Yesterday afternoon was dry and sunny but that wind chill kept you aware that we were not getting the 22C some people were enjoying down the country! It was overcast by teatime but cleared during the night for the full moon. This morning first thing it was clear but now we have an overcast sky and very light rain. The glass is up on 1010mb and the forecast is for it to be sunny by late morning and we can expect a dry day. The southerly winds will become moderate and gust to 30mph giving us a high of 14C and a low tonight of 10C with a wind chill of up to -3C. The outlook is for similar dry, sunny weather except for Sunday which is forecast to be wet and windy.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry until 16:00 when it clouded over and we had a brief shower..... We had clear skies for much of the night. This morning we have light rain but that's forecast to cease shortly. The glass is down on 1003mb and the forecast is for a dry sunny day similar to yesterday. The westerly winds will be light to moderate and give us a high of 14C and a low tonight of 6C with a -2C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for very similar weather. The forecast of a wet and windy day tomorrow has gone and now it is predicted to be similar to today.
After I wrote that I saw a report elsewhere on the web of a 'weather bomb' that was due to hit Western Scotland on Sunday and when I looked into it I found that the outlook in the weather forecast this morning is wrong. Sunday will indeed be wet and windy. Sorry about that, a very misleading general forecast.

The sun came out to play at 11:00 so by 12:00 I was out having a walk and a sit on the bench supervising traffic. Only for ten minutes though as we had a shower despite the sun..... It had stopped as soon as I came out of the Co-op with milk, garlic and tomatoes...... :biggrin2:

Yesterday I casually heard that Storm Ashley would centre on the Hebrides and North West Scotland, and winds up to 80 mph were mentioned.

A public run has been cancelled in (I think) Portsmouth due to concerns about the impending bad weather.

The forecast for tomorrow at the bottom of my browser - which I very rarely look at says
Cambridge - Wind 6 km/hour gusting to 20 k/h
Hebrides - Wind 16 km/hour gusting to 41 k/h

Yesterday we got the sun at 11AM. During the afternoon we sank into overcast again but during the night it cleared and this morning we have a good moon visible through a very thin layer of cloud and it is calm, dry and cool. The glass is up slightly on 1006mb but tending to fall. The forecast is for heavy rain starting about 06:00 and lasting until noon when it should change to sunny spells for the rest of the day. The real story is the mainly SW wind which will be strong all day gusting to almost 55 mph later. We can expect a high of 15C and a low of 9C tonight. The wind chill will gradually increase until it reaches -5C this evening. This is the first named storm of the season, Storm Ashley, and it will be strongest on the West Coast of Scotland.
The shipping forecast tells the story, gale warnings in all areas and up to violent storm 11 in Hebrides. Here in Barlick the wind is rising but we have no rain yet. (05:30)

Yesterday was not as bad as the forecast suggested, at least down here in Barlick. As per the forecast the rain ceased at noon and we actually saw a few glimpses of the sun in the afternoon. This morning first thing we had less wind, scattered cloud for an overcast and it had stopped raining but it has started raining again now. The glass had fallen but is up now on 1005mb and tending to rise. The forecast is the rain to stop at dawn and we can expect a dry day with sunny intervals. The constant SW wind will be brisk gusting to 40mph but falling lighter by this evening. We can expect a high of 13C and a low of 6C with a wind chill of up to -4C. The outlook is for similar weather to later today, bright but mixed.

Yesterday we had a dry afternoon with plenty of sunny spells. There was the odd shower later but nothing of note. It was a clear night but first thing this morning it had just started raining when I went out and it is still raining now. The glass is up on 1016mb and tending to rise. The forecast is again for the rain to stop at dawn and we will have a dry day with sunny spells clearing completely this afternoon to full sun and a clear night. The westerly winds will be moderate and give us a high of 13C and a low of 5C tonight with a wind chill that will reach -3C briefly through the day. The outlook is for similar weather apart from Saturday and Sunday which could be wet.
