Cold weather food Kev. Yesterday I had the last two servings of the last batch and for tea I had a chunky breaded cod fillet with processed peas just for a change! I cooked my next batch of veggies and this morning I shall cut up a nice slab of pork belly and get it going in the slow cooker with tomatoes and spices.......

For the last two days I find I have quite naturally missed one of my normal three helpings of meat and veggies. Not planned or intended, it just happened. This does not worry me at all!

I had fish chips and peas for breakfast and dinner. At teatime, once again, I didn't feel hungry so only had a very small helping of veggies.

I seem to be in a phase where I am eating less. This is good, it doesn't worry me at all! So three small helpings of chicken and veggies yesterday.

A cauldron of beef stew should keep us going for a couple more days. It's a new batch, smoked lardons, braising steak, carrot swede, celery, onions, parsnips, a couple of chillies, a bulb of garlic, peas, salt and pepper, Italian mixed herbs and a tin of mixed beans. Had it with dumplings this evening for tea :good:

That's the way to eat warming winter food cheap! Well done Kev!
I had three small helpings again. I might as well take advantage of the fact I am not hungry while this phase lasts. And no, it doesn't worry me, it's natural if I'm not going for walks and having dad naps at dinnertime!

Defrosted a pot of chilli. Baked jacket spuds in the air fryer, after 10 minutes in the microwave. Made a good lunch with some grated cheese on top. Fish finger bun for tea.

I defrosted some stewing beef and onions that I did in the slow cooker last week, boiled a diced potato, mixed with the beef, made some short crust pastry for a lid and baked it in the air fryer. Half of the pie and some mushy peas and a bit of gravy for tea. Have a portion spare for tomorrow.

I'm still on very small helpings. Must be some sort of phase I am going through. In terms of weight loss it's very minimal which is a good thing, it's slow weight loss like that which lasts!

I do miss steak and kidney puds David but I find I function much better without any form of pastry or bread.....
Yesterday I had the last three helpings of the last batch of veggies as I cooked the new one. Today I shall be into fresh chicken and veggies.....
I looked at the news about fears of bad meat being imported and reflected that, eccentric though I might be, my method of cooking my own fresh veggies and meat from a butcher who buys in local markets and from local farmers could be the way to ensure food safety.
