Problem is I have forgotten already and so can't even write it down. This is the reality of being digitally challenged and 90 years old1111 :biggrin2:

I shall be in the shed early doors doing useful things to my connecting rod. Later I shall cook buttered swede for an extender and finish the day by watching snooker. My mate Ronnie has pulled out of the tournament for medical reasons.

This morning was finishing turning the connecting rod, adjusting it for length and putting a pitch circle on the foot for drilling for the bolts. Now for breakfast.

Morning

We had a dry day yesterday in Grange but it must have rained here in Langdale as there were big puddles on the steps to our lodge. We had a lovely walk around the bird ponds and then along the prom down by the grassy estuary edge . The wild birds were fantastic but it was a bitterly cold wind.

Most cafes were closed or full so we had to drive elsewhere for lunch so we went to an Antique barn and cafe near Cartmel. Afterwards the others went home and we returned via Hawkshead calling at the outdoor shop of the same name. There we bought clothes and boot reproofer, Bob bought new trainers and I bought a new thick waterproof coat which was half price at £65 . We always buy our walking gear here in the January sales and the coats are always a bargain

Today we have no plans yet . It’s due to be dry after 10 till tomorrow evening. There are a lot of local walks we like to do. Sometime we will go for a swim . Have a good day all

The second picture was taken at quite a distance on the camera on my new iPhone. I am ultra impressed with it. I could barely see the bird with my naked eye and took the photo only to try to see what it was I don’t think I will ever use my camera again

Morning Sue! That sounds like a very successful day in Grange. You're right about that camera in your phone. They are so good that they make the normal 'point and shoot' camera unnecessary.
I have just come down after two hours second sleep a shower and change of clothes. I have a hot drink and I am going to have a sit and waken properly before doing anything..... I hope you have another good day.

I shall be in the shed putting the final touches to my connecting rod and fitting it.
I see nothing in the weather forecast to sop me having a walk later to post a letter and who knows, I might even fry my sweet potato chips!

Another careful step forward. I adjusted the thickness of the Con rod foot and re-marked the PCD for the two bolts. Then I drilled the foot for the bolts and filed a flat bed next to the shaft of the rod to allow the nuts room to be tightened. Then I took the brass off the crank pin and assembled it so it is ready for finish milling tomorrow and drilling for the pivot pin in the crosshead. Now I want my breakfast!

Morning

Another lovely day yesterday, cold and dry. We went for a swim in the morning and a walk through the woods nearby in the afternoon. Today we are off to Keswick for a walk and out for a meal tonight to celebrate my birthday. Have a good day all

Morning Sue! Happy birthday! Whatever you do to celebrate, I hope it all goes well.
Nothing that exciting here in Barlick. I am back from a walk to post my letter and a quick shelf-filler visit to the Co-op.
The good news is that the pillar box on post office corner is back in business and the upgrade is that you can post a small parcel there if you have the right digital credentials.

Thank you all. We have spent a lovely day in Keswick, my favourite place here and are just about to go out to eat. The rain held off and we had a very pleasant walk round the Lske edge. Photos tomorrow.
