TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Yesterday afternoon we had the forecast heavy rain but as we went into the night the sky cleared. This morning it was breezy, mild, clear and dry but this will not last. The glass is on 996mb and rising. The forecast is for rain before dawn and this will be with us until this afternoon. The mainly SW wind is moderate and constant and we can expect a high of 8C and a low tonight of -2C with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day. Tomorrow will be gright and cooler but after that the rest of the week is overcast and slightly warmer.

The southerly winds are light and we can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of 3C with a -3C wind chill for most of the day. The outlook is for slightly warmer, dry overcast. No surprises and no frost.

Yesterday afternoon delivered on the promise in the forecast, we has sunny spells and a light breeze. We went into the night with a light breeze and a clear sky. There was a shower of rain at midnight. This morning we have a light breeze, broken overcast and it's dry. The glass is on 996mb and tending to fall. The forecast is for a dry day of bright overcast with sunny intervals in the morning. The southerly winds will start moderate and gradually fall to light by noon. We can expect a high of 6C and a low tonight of 0C with a wind chill that starts at -5C this morning but this gradually reduces during the day as the wind drops. The six day outlook is for dry, slightly warmer but heavily overcast weather. It could be much worse! This is kind winter weather.

The glass is steady on 996mb and the forecast is for the mist to persist until 07:00 when it's possible we might have a light shower of rain. By mid-morning the overcast will be breaking and we will have sunny spells for the rest of the day. The southerly winds will be light all day and we can expect a high of 7C and a low of 4C tonight with a -3C wind chill all day. The six day outlook is for overcast weather but similar temperatures, dry and no frost. This is very kind winter weather!

Yesterday afternoon was quite pleasant, light wind, mild, bright and dry. We had a quiet night with rain starting around midnight. That's what we have now, heavy overcast, rain and a light breeze. The glass has risen to 1006mb and is still tending to rise. The constant ESE wind will be light and we can expect a high of 8C and a low of 2C tonight with a -2 wind chill all day occasionally rising to -3C. The outlook is for similar weather, overcast but perhaps drier.

The glass has continued to rise and is on 1017mb and still tending to rise slowly. The constant east wind will be light all day and we can expect a high of 6C and a low tonight of 5C. The wind chill will be -2C all day. The outlook is for three even warmer, dry, overcast days and then slightly cooler but mild days to end the week. We are having very mild weather for January!

It’s been very warm and today it will reach 36C. +10C above average daily high.
Plenty more high temperatures to come. We have lots of bright light from 6.30am to 8.30pm.
Friday was lovely with 24C , and a cool breeze. Very refreshing.

Yesterday afternoon remained heavily overcast but eventually dried up. We had overcast and mist during the night. This morning first thing it was still overcast and misty with light rain. The glass has fallen to 1012mb and the forecast is for the mist and possibly the rain at times to persist all day. The constant easterly winds will be light and we can expect a high of 8C and a low tonight of 5C with a wind chill of -2C for much of the day. We can expect a brighter day tomorrow and then back to heavy overcast with similar temperatures to today. Later in the week it is slightly cooler.

I am back home after a short walk and a shop for milk. It's dry and quite pleasant out there as there is hardly any wind.

Yesterday afternoon was a rerun of Sunday, it stayed dry, calm and relatively bright until dusk. It's been a quiet night and this morning it's overcast, calm and damp and still mild. The glass has fallen to 1007mb and the forecast is for the heavy overcast to lift slowly and for the rest of the day to be dry with sunny spells. The SE wind starts light and grows slowly to moderate this afternoon. We can expect a high of 8C and a low tonight of 3C with a wind chill which will be -4C by this afternoon. The outlook is for similar heavy overcast and gradually cooling by the end of the week.

Yesterday afternoon was up to expectation.... bright and sunny at times and despite rising wind speed, still quite pleasant. We had a quiet night until it started raining. That rain is forecast to last until about 04:00 and then we get a window of bright overcast with sunny intervals that will last until late morning when the heavy overcast and rain comes in for the rest of the day. It's raining at the moment and the glass has plunged to 990mb and still tending to fall. The mainly SSE wind will be moderate all day and gusts to almost 40mph this afternoon. We can expect a high of 8C and a low of 7C tonight with a wind chill of -5C later in the day. The outlook is for three more days of mild temperatures like this and then three days of lower and falling temperatures.
