Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Yesterday dried up late morning and we had a dry overcast afternoon. Last night the overcast was broken cloud but it stayed dry I think. This morning we still have broken cloud but it's dry and milder with a significant breeze. The glass is down on 986mb and tending to fall. The forecast is for showers all day out of a mostly bright overcast and some sunny spells this afternoon. The constant westerly winds will be moderate and gust to over 30mph early in the day. We can expect a high of 6C and a low of -2C tonight. The wind chill will be -5C at times but the overall effect is milder than of late. The outlook is for cool brighter weather for three days and then warming up into double figures by the end of the week.

We’ve just had a light shower, fine now, hardly any breeze, a bit nippy and quite cloudy.

Some very heavy showers in the Burnley area. I got soaked walking through the hospital grounds to get to my appointment in the eye clinic!

Yesterday afternoon was damp but no serious rain. We seem to have had a dry night and at the moment it's clear, breezy and cold under a clear sky. The glass is up on 1000mb and rising strongly. The forecast is for a dry clear sunny day with a yellow frost warning of ice until 10:00 due to a strong wind chill. The wind starts as moderate WNW but eases and by 14:00 is NE. We can expect a high of 3C and a low tonight of -2C with a -5C wind chill early on but easing as the day goes on. The outlook is for two more bright cold days and then we move into heavy overcast but temperatures into double figures.

It’s sunning. A beautiful morning, wall to wall sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, and not too cold either.

Yesterday afternoon stayed bright and dusk was a long time coming! It stayed daylight for a long time. We've had a dry overcast night with a light breeze. The glass has risen and is on 1010mb this morning. The constant ESE wind will be moderate all day gusting to almost 35mph. We can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of -2C and a wind chill of -5C all day so wrap up warm! The outlook is for two more overcast cold days and then the temperature climbs into double figures!

Yesterday afternoon stayed bright and cold but with very little sun. We had light rain/snow during the night and this morning it's calm and dry under heavy overcast even though the Met Office says we are having wintry showers.... The glass is down on 995mb and the forecast is for a heavily overcast day with wintry showers all day. The wind starts ENE moderate and ends up E and light. We can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of 2C with a wind chill that is -5C now but eases as the wind drops during the day. The outlook is for a big change tomorrow with temperatures in double figures for the rest of the week.

Lightly overcast, no breeze, quite nippy and when I went out to top the birds up there was the odd bit of rain. It feels like it could go either way.

We went out for a walk into Longridge to the civic hall market, it stayed fine apart from something light blowing in the wind occasionally. It was bitterly cold making my eyes and nose run 🫣😂

Yesterday afternoon was a re-run of the day before, bright overcast, damp in the air and a light wind. This continued into the night and early this morning. We have overcast, a light breeze and enough damp in the air to keep the roof slates wet.... The glass has risen to 1009mb and is steady. The forecast is for a rainy start to the day and the overcast breaking later to give us scattered showers and sunny intervals. The winds will be mainly SW starting light but becoming moderate later in the day with gusts up to 20mph. We can expect a high of 9C and a low tonight of 7C. The wind chill will rise to -4C this afternoon. The outlook is for the broken weather with temperatures above 10C for the rest of the week.

I've been for a walk around the town centre for some errands. Light rain and a cruel wind but on the whole it's warmer than yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon was overcast and light rain most of the time. It brightened up towards dusk and stayed light for longer than usual. The night started clear and dry but around midnight the rain started again. The glass had fallen back slightly but has risen again and is back on 1009mb. The forecast is for an overcast wet day with a blustery wind, we might get a dry spell for a while late morning. The WSW wind is brisk and at the moment is gusting to almost 40mph. It will ease back a little but not much. We can expect a high of 11C and a low tonight of 7C with a wind chill of -3C all day. The outlook is for very similar broken weather and it will get even warmer.....

Yesterday afternoon there was a brief spell when it stopped raining but later the gloom and rain reasserted themselves. This morning we have a breeze and significant rain. The glass is steady on 1009mb. The forecast is for a bright overcast day with sunny spells but with showers re-commencing in the late afternoon. The WSW wind will be brisk and gusts to over 40MPH during the day. We can expect a high of 10C and a low of 6C tonight with a wind chill of -4C all day. The outlook is for another wet day tomorrow and more overcast but drier and milder for the rest of the week.
