Stanley, I no longer read these and picture you outside in the early hours, in the cold 🤣😂

Usually the gym late morning but not today. We are attending the funeral of Sally's cousin Donald, about the same age as me. Taken unexpectedly ill a couple of weeks ago and went downhill fast and died.Donald was a generally fit bloke and ex military so quite a shock. I was talking to him at a birthday bash for his sister about a week before. Would rather be at the gym!

I don't go to funerals these days.... I find other ways to pay my respects....
I have finished the veggie cooking and am waiting for the hob to cool before I clean it. Always a good spot in my week!

Hard luck Kev.... That looks painful. No hot and spicy food for a while!
I shall be in theshed early doors and then I will cook savoury cabbage and onions after second sleep. The rest of the day is anybody's guess as it is forecast to be wet, and windy later on....

First job this morning was to make sure I knew exactly what stage we are at.... I decided that this morning I would drill and tap for the steam pipe. I did this and then decided not to go forward with the next step because that is to strip the cylinder down and make the piston and rod. Not a big morning but I have earned my breakfast.....

I was laid in bed thinking how marvellous that it was so light at 22:00 when it dawned on me that this was second sleep and it was ten in the morning! So I thought I'd better get up.... Funny what old age does to your head! [But nice to have such a good sleep.} :laugh5:

It was very light at 5.00 a.m😊

My dad used to phone us at 4 00 in the morning in the summer and ask us if it was 4 in the evening or 4 in the morning. Polite answers were needed but not what we felt !!!

I started the day by stripping my cylinder down to its component parts then marked and drilled it ready for tapping. I set up for tapping but then knocked off for breakfast, I have done enough for one morning.

Morning

I had not got all my plants into pots yesterday when we had the rain deluge. Luckily my washing was nearly dry so I even managed to get it ironed leaving me free this morning to plant up the rest. This afternoon Lucy is coming, she only has three things to finish on her dress before a final fitting and a slight modification at the waist. She is thrilled and was doing twirls in the kitchen like 3 year old 😊

The forecast is dry with some sun. Have a good day all

I enjoy doing it and I enjoy her company. I taught her age as well as adult returners so I find it very easy to get on with her and just chat to her. Hopefully I have given her some support educationally too, using my senior tutor skills from years gone by.

This morning I tapped the cylinder for the studs needed for the back lid. Minimal fitting needed to adjust the register of the lid locator and the holes. Half an hour's careful and error free work. Just how we like it. Now for breakfast.

Morning

Lucy and I worked hard for 3.5 hours to try and finish her dress for when she goes to France in two weeks. We didn’t get it finished but got it to a stage where she can finish it in one more session, which we have managed to fit in between her exams, revision classes and my various activities. I have promised to do a couple of tasks to help meet the deadline. We were both tired by the end. In fact I was in bed by 9.30 pm

Today is French, i have a routine Drs appointment at teatime and we have our packing to finish for our 6 day holiday to the Isle of Man leaving here tomorrow morning. Its due to be an ok week weather wise , not startling, but the forecast rain seems to be overnight. Todays rain should stop within the hour. Have a good day all

It's dried up here nicely Sue and we have plenty of sunny spells. I'm glad you will be able to finish Lucy's dress.... I wonder how many of her contemporaries have made anything like that....?

My sweet potato chips are done and in the fridge. I am just finishing a load of 40C washing and the last dry clothes are put away upstairs. All I need now is for the bin men to empty my bin.....
