We really need a hobbies subforum for boating.
Anyway looking for something on the net , and I get diverted , via google maps , to a site called Panoramio.
There are a few pictures of Barnoldswick and surrounding areas on there , and one set seems to come from a June 2011 trip along the Leeds Liverpool Canal

It looks like one of the air shafts for the mile tunnel viewed from below.

It is indeed - I remember it well. If you looked up you got splashes of dirty rain water on your face. Went through Foulridge tunnel many times when working for BWB in the 1970s.
