Breakfast was the third of the steak and onion meals and then dinner and tea were chicken and veggies. I Fried my sweet potato chips and ordered my meat for delivery today. I enjoyed the steak and onion and it wasn't too expensive at less than £4 for the meat in three meals.....

Made a Bolognese with brisket for tea. 2lb of brisket it in the pressure cooker for an hour with tomato, diced carrots, diced celery, rosemary, beef stock and basil, shredded it, reduced the liquid a bit threw in a jar of black olives and the shredded brisket and simmered for another half an hour. Served with tagliatelle and grand padano shavings, very pleased with the outcome.
Finished off with an espresso, I highly recommend this 'rocket fuel' from Aldi.

Looks good Kev. I didn't have any tea as by the time I got home from my rump steak at the Tempest it was time for bed!

I was taken out yesterday (on a three line whip) to McDonalds. Not been for a long time. I always have a Big Mac meal, but I've not been for a long time.
In an effort to keep up - I had a "Big Arch" which is a new menu item, but 'here to stay. Despite having had no breakfast or lunch - it was a challenge, and I came close to needing a 'doggy bag'. I persevered and later found it as worth over 1050 calories - not counting the fries and the half a chocolate brownie pie.
I had a tea with it, and was asked was I sure I meant tea? I think it was the only one they sold all day. To be fair it was OK.
I then discovered what the cost of living problem was all about - the cost for two similar meals was nearly £24 pounds. Ouch.

Glad you enjoyed your 'Big Arch' David. As for the cost of living, I had similar thoughts on Saturday when I paid the bill for five of us at the Tempest.....
But then I reflected it wasn't likely to happen again.....
I am finishing last week's cooking..... I shall be cooking a new batch of veggies today.... (£30 for the veggies and slightly less for the butcher's account..... )

When I went to the Co-op on Friday I nabbed a roast in the bag chicken for less than a fiver as it was on see-by date. It struck me as I cooked it yesterday that this was less then what you would pay for a fried fish at the chip shop......
