Very true Gloria but worth the price.
Gillian the vet rang this morning and she must be on a direct line to Wendy! She agreed on the general deterioration after the second attack but when I gave her his symptoms she said it was a classic case of vestibular syndrome.
I know when I'm outnumbered! She was pleased to hear he was showing and improvement, said he had the best chance because she knows I know what he needs and warned me that there could be a recurrence.
So I bow to my superiors and retreat from the stage tugging my forelock the while.....

Well done Wendy.
I’m sure he’s in the best hands Stanley, you obviously understand him and what’s going on.

Huh! Who do you think you are kidding Ma'am? There is a fact here, you and Gillian concurred in your diagnosis and you were no luckier than she is. I trust both of you. As Gillian said when I described the symptoms, they are classic. I am satisfied and convinced.
What a store of information and good advice OG is.....

I hope Jack recovers soon. He seems to be coping better today from what you told us. Best wishes to you and good luck to Jack. Extra sausages required!

Thanks China, the world is more normal. Slow improvement continues, he's not 100% and never will be but I am not panicking now....
(Funny thing is, any dog affected by it always tends to the right. Last night he trotted up the long path in the garden fronts in a straight line, wonderful sight!)

Jack. Continuing steady improvement. Near normality but I have to keep him close otherwise he loses me.

We had to wash our cat Primrose this morning! Something she ate obviously didn't agree with her and she had an explosive stool event which partially missed her litter tray. She must have then tried to wipe her bum by dragging it on the floor! Al that sorted OK but she ended up with a mucky bum. We had to get her in the yard and sponge her down, she didn't like it!

We both managed to escape without any lacerations though and she is currently hiding somewhere and hopefully finishing the clean up job.

Have to say you are turning me off getting a pet. Hubby won’t have a cat anyway ( we have done all that), but I don’t know if we can invest in a dog either ( last one was a money pit).
We would like a pet, but don’t think we can truly afford one nowadays. Sad I know, but vet fees get prohibitive.

Oh Bless Primrose, Hope all back to normal for her. Cat’s hate being mucky.
Last night my cat suddenly decided to throw up , she was in her bed next to me, I noticed her body language and quickly scooped her up and onto some tiles, so she wouldn’t be sick in her bed or on the carpet. Between us she still managed to get a bit on the carpet, a bit on the tiles and the rest down My Jumper!
It was like having a human baby being sick on me, all over again.

Is Lady ok now, Cazza? She looked great on the weekend. ( very vocal she was, and strutting about)

Got the T-Shirt for that as well Cathy. Our Carla would not be breast fed and was a projectile vomiter to boot. 3am, bottle in then wait for most of it to come back up, usually down your back. She once threw up on the cat who was minding her own business on the hearth. I was rocking Carla in the little bouncy lounger we used to have. One little burp and the cat was covered, she was 3ft away from launch point.

Morning Maz.... Cats being sick..... Dogs too but not projectile thank God!
Vet bills... I was talking to one of my ladies this morning who has a big dog that loves Jack and me. She said it had been diagnosed with heart disease and the treatment was costing over £100 a month. I'm afraid that if that was Jack that would be the end of him. I simply couldn't afford it.
Interesting aside from daughter Susan this week. We were talking about Jack and though she never said it directly I got the drift that if Jack dies she'd rather I didn't get another pup as she has promised me that if I have a dog when I die she will look after it. Since she promised that they have lost both their dogs and she is quite happy without the responsibility. I understand her point of view and it made me reflect that I should bear this in mind. All right I like living with a dog but I must remember who gets the responsibility if I die.... It has made me have a rethink!

He'll never be right again Gloria but he's easy to live with and is happy. Main thing I have to watch is that he gets lost so easily, he gave me a shock yesterday when he vanished. But, as I say he is easy to live with. Here he is yesterday afternoon contemplating life.....

But I'm a bit worried about it Gloria because I always thought it was Topsy who said that. Have a look at
THIS, interesting but still no mention of Topsy. Then, have a look at
THIS analysis of Topsy in Uncle Tom's Cabin which I always thought was where the quotation came from.

I thought it was Pooh, but Im not sure that was where it came from originally.
