Haven't decided on today's programme yet beyond walking down to the butcher's for Jack's mince..... I don't need any meat, slowly eating my way through the freezer!

In the Heritage Room in Earby, working on the archives. I got the big hen house cleaned out yesterday then got rained off. The bantams & the ducks can wait for a dryer day.

Ducks don't seem to mind the rain but if anything looks more miserable than a wet banty I have yet to see it! (Especially the ones with trousers....)

Sue, age means nothing, it's the mileage and how you feel. I never feel old, perhaps I'm just kidding myself but who cares!
I shall be watching my email closely........ Today could be a Red Letter Day!
08:40. Constant updates. What does 7cm dilated and 3 to go mean for God's sake!

Stanley asked "What does 7cm dilated and 3 to go mean?"
It means it is NOT a false alarm, Stanley! Stand by with the catcher's mitt...
How did it all go then?

I have an answer for you Maz! Katie sent me this pic less than three hours after she finished delivering Alexander James into the world. Here's what she wrote "He finally arrived! At 9:32, weighing 7lbs6, 51cm long with a head circumference of 35cm

Here's our little Alexander James!
That was Perth local time, 13:32GMT. I shame to say I was having my afternoon's sleep!Mother and baby both well, no reports of Ben, the father!
Love to all, Great Granddad Stanley. (PS the Great Aunts are recovering after all the stress!)

Bright eyed and bushy tailed...and none the worse for his journey...and dare I say he has the look of being 'one step ahead' of his mother! In other words, I predict she will have her hands full. This child looks full of mischief!

Driving to Stratford on Avon and back, time for Ruby to go home. Good day for it anyway, AA road watch says the route is clear so should be a good run.

Alexander James, welcome to the world! And may you be blessed with good health, a peaceful life and the wisdom of your great-grandfather Stanley. Get his name down for a university engineering course now! (Remember the photo I showed you Stanley of my 7-year-old relative Lucy using an electric drill to make a birdbox? Well, she also did some of our recent decorating, scrapping off old paper, pasting new, marking out lengths and helping hang them, and caulking gaps behind the skirting board etc. They start young these days!)

Have you ever considered doing one on the history of marriage? Could be timely now?
