We watched Collateral on the other side, it held my attention for an hour. Strong cast including John Simm, who is in Trauma as well.

Thanks Ian. I don't usually read this topic and missed your posting. It was Stanley's post about his birthday present which caught my eye.

Curry's offered a timed next day delivery for £9.50. I selected this morning before noon and it is on its way. I hate waiting for couriers! I shall be reporting when I have it up and running.
Started to watch the new ITV offering 'Trauma' last night but realised it was yet another angst-filled medical drama. I went over to BBC2 and people fighting for survival.....
I tripped over Eric Sykes' 1967 film, 'The Plank' last night on Youtube. Dead simple, hilarious and what a cast list! (LINK) Lovely.....

I have entered a new era in my TV watching. I can now hear every word. I checked by re-watching some of Shetland and I can make out every word they say! So all that worrying about my hearing was misplaced, it was the quality of sound the TV set was delivering with its inbuilt speakers.
This has spurred me on to seriously attack wax in my ears. Nothing drastic, I am simply going to make a small injection of Earex in my ears part of my daily routine until the wax starts to clear and then I can cut back. We get lazy about these things!

I suffered the rest of Requiem in the vain hope there would be some sort of resolution. The mish mash of Dennis Wheatley, the Omen and Hammer Horror didn't improve. More loose ends than a broken tow rope! Still, I have crossed it off my list.

Enjoyed Shetland again last night..... I have found a button on the remote control for the woofer, whatever that is! I can improve the sound even further!

A woofer improves your lower end or bass sounds.....something that you will have been missing from the small TV speakers. Nolic

The woofer is there to help Jack get better sound! :extrawink:

I stayed up for 2 hours after my normal bedtime last night entranced by The Old Grey Whistle Test - Live which was on from 9pm till midnight. A lovely mix of memories, conversations and some new stuff too.
I was transported back to the early seventies, visiting home from college or wherever I was working at the time, staying up after parents had gone to bed. Lights out and a furtive cigarette.

If you missed the first episode last week Stanley you have no chance. Problem with dramatising myth is that they often draw from multiple versions of the same tale and very easy to loose the plot or not get it at all. Helen of Troy a case in point.

I watched the first episode on catch-up Ian and so am fairly well abreast, not riveting but watchable. I enjoyed the new Endeavour last night and an old Rumpole of the Bailey on Youtube.....
