"Staff were saying that the price was daylight robbery,"
Dial in Coronovirus into Amazon Cathy and look for the rip-offs. There are plenty to choose from!
Amazon say that they are culling these scams but funnily enough, most of them are cheaper if you sign up to the Amazon credit card or similar offers. Some people will make money out of anything including misery and disease.

They need to have at least 60% alcohol in them to be effective against viruses.

Toilet roll (9 roll multipack) on offer on Ebay, wait for it... £250.00, there are other similar on offer for £99.00 and it says they have sold 114 when I looked.

Thinking of cutting some newspapers up into squares, threading on string and offering it as bargain vintage, what do you reckon, £120.00 about right?

1. Cut a piece of toilet tissue into 5 centimetre squares.
2. Fold tissue from left to right.
3. Fold again from top to bottom.
4. Fold across diagonal top left to bottom right.
5. Tear 1 centimetre from top left corner removing the corner. Do not discard the small piece of tissue but open it up and carefully store it as you will require it later.
6. Open up your square of tissue. It now has a 2cm hole in the middle.
7. Place your left index finger through the hole and slide tissue down to knuckle.
8. After defecating use your left index finger to clean your anus.
9. Remove tissue from left index finger wiping and cleaning the finger as you do so and discard the soiled tissue.
10. Now the most important part. Use the small piece you removed in step 5 to clean under your nail and discard the soiled tissue.

One toilet roll should last one person approximately 2 years.
This is another useful tip brought to you by OGFB.

Iceland is Open at 7am I think for early morning old shoppers. (its a bus ride or a long walk away for me)
Sainsburys Handwash (own brand is cheaper than the Carex) Normally its 250ml for £1 with a 500ml refil for 90p. Oddly todays delivery a pump 500ml at 60p. the 500ml refils are £1. Must be the cheap price of plastic that more packaging is less money.

Cat Food sorted for now, 3months supplies of medications in.

Kev I saw that as well but I think they'll send the new free licences out anyway in June just to let us know we are safe.
Ian, go for it! There are plenty of idiots out there....
China, I'm with Cathy, include me out. Have you still got that woman on the sofa?

How come the woman is always on your sofa in the mornings? Obviously you must snore...and the lady has to sleep on the sofa to get some peace.

I forgot to mention, Susan and Mick visited yesterday and brought cold comfort in the shape of some frozen fish I had forgotten to get in my shopping. They are particularly at risk as they are both carers so we did a bit of planning and plotting.

Bit more than time with that method ( my Uncle suggested that to me in general but forgot the specifics in the 1970s rationings )

Our local small Tesco Express shop has a big sign yesterday saying `Please be polite to our staff'. They're having trouble with some people demanding to be sold as much stuff as they like and then getting aggressive and rude if they're refused it. I suppose we should expect there'll be some people like that.

I noticed a similar sign in our supermarket last Saturday about respecting staff and not getting aggressive.
Sad times.
Why yell at the checkout staff?
( mind you, hospital staff have had problems with aggression for the past decade...)
And I doubt it comes from folk over 60 years of age. They test your urine on entry to Emergency Dept and know exactly what drugs you are on.

Yes, our hospital staff face an unbelievable amount of abuse and violence, which is one of the reasons we have insufficient of them at a time like this.

Can we not just incinerate them in waste to power locations ? There are bamboo fibre based ones (Dairy Crest milk and more will deliver them !)

All responsible disposal regimes are possible but the sad fact is that most of them go down the loo or into landfill. The former blocks up the waste water treatment plants and in the latter case they are virtually indestructible and will remain in the ground for aeons and just contribute to leeching effects and noxious gas production.

Of course there are also more bio friendly versions but they are not used in anywhere near the same quantities as the unfriendly varieties.

Noted, I dont think I have ever knowingly flushed any wipe away , (but then I used to work for Dyno-Rod!), I use them sparingly on difficult to shift items including the floor and bathroom ones, I treat them like J-Cloths and so on without the need to run water etc on them, mums local council now incinerates all items in the black bin collections, as does Manchester Council for items put in any non recyclable containers , not certain where Stockport takes its Black Bin items - they could go to an industrial landfill which I think in the main are ex quarry workings so degredation should not be a problem unless microparticles eventually pass into adjoining soil with liquid transmissions - but I only use floor wipes in Stockport as the house has hard floors, and baby wipes when the grandkids visit.

Notice that Mobile Voice networks have problems supposedly on a 3G/4G interconnect in/out of O2/Vodaphone and a couple of others to Three, in the main Three has switched off , in London, mobile data networking, so no internet email etc updates on one of the phones. So much for data resiliance if working from home

Blow your nose on dirty washing in the machine. It will all get cleaned and sterilised when you wash! and nothing to dispose of.
The fact that I almost have a finished cylinder ready for Kahara's engine! See shed matters.
Mail from Tony Nixon at Bancroft. Not only have they cancelled the Centenary Steaming but for the time being the engine house will be closed, no visitors or steamings.

The latest false information doing the rounds and spread by people who should know better is that hand sanitizer contains the same chemical as anti freeze and not to let your pets lick your hands. Ethanol in one Ethylene Glycol in the other..... they both start with Eth so it must be true!!

Many hand sanitiser products contain chemicals other than ethanol; in fact some don't have ethanol in them. Some are labelled with warnings not to let pets come into contact with them and not to use them on food contact surfaces unless you wash the surface well afterwards. An example of the other ingredients are quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) such as benzalkonium chloride.
