What would anyone want bent spanners for?

Half moon spanners make it a lot easier to get at awkwardly placed nuts and bolts...

Kev is right of course but there is a specific job these were made for.

Are they for use on a cylinder head?

In the past I've 'bent' spanners for all kinds of access reasons but to buy a proprietary make would imply something like working down in a rocker box timing mechanism. Not a lot of experience on diesel engines so I can't say in this respect.

Rather than being specific, I would say they would be used whenever necessary.

I thought they might be for use on bolts inside a cylinder of some sort but why wouldn't use a socket for this? So I don't know, but I have seen them!

The answer is easy - they're for getting around corners!

Everyone is right but hasn't got the usage so I shall knock it on the head. They were sold as manifold spanners because they were particularly handy for getting at the nuts on exhaust manifolds and we have all had struggles with them in the past.
Next for shaving?

Trust Kev to know all the wine bottle labels! :laugh5:
By the way, it looks more like a newt to me but I'll refrain from making urinary jokes.
