Around £200k according to David Whipp, jointly funded by BTC and PBC. The 30 year old flags that were removed were bought by the company going the job.

The care home on the Green Kev, opposite your old house. They have been laying flags there for an extended patio for three weeks now.

On another matter. I have been feeling cold in the house of late and am beginning to suspect that my 25 year old master thermostat is lazy. I wound it back and forth over its range this morning and reset it where it was before, a shade over 18C and lo and behold the heating is on at low level and things are a lot more comfortable. It may be time for a call to my sparks! I feel I would benefit from a new one, 25 years of good service is probably enough.
I shall keep a very close eye on it.

Have you considered that it might be your body's thermostat that has changed, not the CH one? Your own one is a lot older than 25 years! :laugh5:

Our new 'Made in Britain' washing machine has arrived this morning. The old one is getting installed in the barn for washing mucky doggy and horsey items.

That too Tiz but winding my dial back and forth makes no difference so I don a padded waistcoat!
Hard luck Ian, I was watching the weather and thinking of you.....

Mail from Margaret, she and Mick are heading South towards Perth on their way home snapping nice trucks on the way. She's still a heavy goods driver at heart. Can't think where she gets it from. :biggrin2:
This is the weather you needed Ian!

Ever come across a car with a 'T' plate on the back? It's been introduced by the Co-op insurance to signify that the car is fitted with a black box to monitor driving and reduce insurance premiums. Sounds like a good idea to me. Evidently people driving totally legally using the boxes have been harassed by other drivers.

T for telematics. Yes, it is a good idea and perhaps the black boxes should be compulsory on all vehicles. After all, road vehicles are dangerous and so are a lot of drivers. Regulate that any data showing a law has been broken must be passed on to the police. It's time we got strict about driving and made sure speed limits are observed, like they are in some other countries. Now is the time to do it, when we are having to be strict about lockdowns and social distancing etc. If we're ever going to make it possible to use driverless cars on our roads we'll need to rein in the Clarkson's of the motoring world!

My two year old car which cost more than I even want to think about has a built in sat navigator with speed sign icon plus a separate performance panel with another yard by yard speed icon and the obligatory analog speed dial. Passing through Salterford Mrs P shouted 'you're doing 60 in a 40 mph zone looking at the sat-nav icon. 'No', I'm doing 40 just watch it change to 30 any minute now. 'Now very adamant 'You're still doing 60' . Forget that one these two are correct at 30. Ah, its change to 40 so you're still too fast. Look says I the limit is now 40 again, So has this one says she. And so up into Barlick we go. The whole point of this bit of nonsense is that unless black boxes are kept up-to-date on a minute by minute basis then a lot of drivers will be having their collars felt for crimes they didn't commit.

The paving of the patio extension at Cravenside is at long last, finished.
4 men and an excavator worked hard to move 4 barrow loads of muck about on the site of the fountain.

It might be the way the barriers are set producing an optical illusion but Queen Victoria's Jubilee Fountain doesn't look quite true to the vertical.

A quick glance at the photo in Tiz's link and the one next to last looks like Majestic Buildings in Barlick back in the day.

Something that will make you all smile. Today I will get delivery of 2 X 4ltr bottles of Lea and Perrins. Nit the same bargain you alerted me to David from Approved Foods, full price at £6 a litre but still a third cheaper than the same thing off the shelf at the Co-op. But I now feel secure. I have a stock.

What on earth are you going to do with 14 pints of condiment! :surprised: I think we have had a small bottle on the go for stews etc for a few months. :extrawink:

I agree Peter. Given my history you'll appreciate how badly this affected me. 46,000 years of history blown up. It doesn't need a lot of considering. Makes Stonehenge look like a recent project. Beyond vandalism.

I am on the last knockings of my 4 litre bottle. That was a long time ago. I don't use Approved Foods any more - never see anything that appeals to me. It was a lot cheaper than that. Fully kuripot compliant.

As discussed elsewhere recently - the spectrum is wide, and everyone is on it somewhere. I think that together, we have proved that conclusively. :laugh5:

I understand that but 14 pints is a bit excessive. Of course you could be imbibing with multiple Bloody Mary's everyday, that might make some inroads into the stock.

Mind you that would probably involve 50 gallons of Vodka and I haven't seen you mention that. :extrawink:

One man's 'excessive' is another man's sensible stock. :biggrin2:
I am a happy bunny, I have about two years stock at a third less than Co-op price and I predict that in two years prices will have at least doubled and it will look like an even better bargain then.
Sleeping in for an hour... No worries, I can handle that.
