Can anyone tell me what this chimney serves and where it is? A clue to start you off, it isn't serving a normal boiler, there is something different about it.

A ventilation chimney. Light a fire underground to draw air through the workings. Shallow coal mine perhaps.

I have to give it to Gloria, but not a drop hammer, a full blown Nasmith Steam hammer.
Now tell me, where is it?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS

I'd better come clean Gloria. It's the chimney that serves the pre-heating furnace at the Anchor Forge at the Black Country museum in Dudley. The waste heat from the furnace is used to produce steam from a boiler set in the flue, this powers the large Nasmith Hammer. This was used for large forgings but in particular, making large marine anchors. [LINK]
