Thanks Cathy. I believe them and look forward to the improvement but can't help having pessimistic thoughts occasionally..... Still looking forward to going, only 12 days to go!!

Just been talking to one of my mates in the back street, we were both out dog-walking. He told me he goes into hospital on Wednesday for an operation, he has stomach cancer. Deep Joy! They say that if they cut it out now he has a good chance but of course that doesn't help a lot. I said all the right things to him but as I came in the house it struck me, here's me worrying about a minor procedure a week on Friday and there's him with that hanging over him. I think I have a better sense of proportion now....

I noted the case of the Tor de France rider who, after falling off his bike, was given a compulsory medical examination during which the doctor informed him he had testicular cancer and should retire from the race and see his doctor. Good that it was discovered but not eh best day of his life!

I go to Blackburn tomorrow to see the orthopedic surgeon who did the op. on my hip for a 12 month check up (it is 2 years on 7th August since I fell and broke my femur and had a hip replacement) - hopefully he will not want to see me again in another 12 months - everything seems OK.

Work starting on the M65 Colne to Burnley. Give yourself a few extra minutes travel time.

Good advice P but I found out the other day when confirming the appointment that they routinely give you an appointment time 30 minutes in advance of the time they work on in the clinic. Makes sense I suppose from their point of view.....
Three sleeps...... (My children always used the number of sleeps as a measure of time before a notable event.)

He was happy with the x-ray but says he will keep his eye one me and see me in another 12 months. At the moment I am going to the dressing clinic as the skin graft has partly brken down!!

Been to clinic this morning, the graft has skinned over and she does not want to see me again unless I have a problem. I have to put hydrocortisone cream on for a day or two longer. Fingers crossed please!!

Wishing you the best possible outcome for tomorrow Stanley! I won't forget to think about you - I've got to go to the dentist tomorrow and it's been in my mind for a while now that we've both got appointments on the same day.
