look like a form of running shuttle on a loom to pull thread along, or to tension guy ropes on a tent

Are they bone or wood? The holes don't appear to go all the way through but I suppose anything threaded in the hole could come out of the end. Whirring sticks, used by aboriginals. They tied a piece of string on them and whirred them around their head to ward off evil spirits and tourists.

Early musical instruments, like xylophone striking plates? I'm still thinking of Australian aborigine people.

Are they just sticks that were thrown between players in a circle like we would throw a ball around?

`Handles' for a skipping rope? The ends of them look more like bone than usual wood, in the photo - the ends have the look of porous material. Or is it some less common wood such as bamboo?

Gloria got very close but there's the answer. Archaeologists have decided they are 16th century ice skates.
Next one?

I hadnt noticed Gloria's answer as such but I presume you need skates to play ice hockey so she should have it.
Were they attached to clogs or just bare feet ? It is less icy in general around England now.

Looks like it's a hand tool for pummelling or shaping something, maybe leather-work or it could be used by a tin maker for helping to form sheet metal?

A wooden or stone mushroom for inserting in socks when they are darned?

Sorry no to both. Clue, it's made of glass. The stone-like appearance is due to deterioration of the glass during the time it was below ground. It's that old, another archaeological discovery.
