I am well known for sleeping in any form of transport as a passenger, but generally do not nod off during the day unless I am really tired. Bob on the other hand I could set a clock by his snooze times😆. My yoga sleep was most unexpected. I am very good with the relaxation and do exactly that. I do use the same breathing techniques if I can’t sleep during the night . It was a very hard pilates session before the yoga although I now get half an hour and a cup of tea in between sessions. As they are streamed from the studio, Taira has to do her covid secure cleaning in between . I feel sorry for the studio classes, as she has to have all the windows open and it must be chilly . Yesterday before yoga Taira was keeping warm with a hot water bottle. I normally just have one window open behind my curtains, but can close it anytime, which I always do for the relaxation, so I was comfy, warm and tired

I never slept well on the nights I taught evening classes. My day started by leaving home at 7.30 am and finished when I returned at 10.00 pm. Having just taught all day and then another two to three hours non stop in the evening my brain was still buzzing. That was when I took up genealogy asI was generally alert til 1.30 a.m.But then I only had a short fitful sleep before I was up to do it all again . However doing that gave me a Friday afternoon off and an opportunity , if I wanted to, to drive to Anglesey and spend the weekend with Bob there rather than him having to drive home on a Friday evening all the time

An unusual bit of pressure washing today. The garage roof. Why you may ask? For years the man made tiles had gathered up a substantial layer of moss which encouraged the crows and magpies to peck it up blocking the troughings and make a real mess and the paths. I've scraped off the bulk of the moss but it still leaves an underlying sticky layer which will only let the moss re-establish itself. Not a job I'm looking forward to.

I have all the castings that make up the cylinder assembly ready for the next stages of drilling and tapping. Whether I start on that tomorrow depends on whether my new 7BA taps arrive some time later today.

Sally power naps during the day as an addition to normal sleep, she has always been able to do it but developed that skill further when she was on chemo. She could sleep without problem on the back of the motorbike when we were on long hauls. It was easy on the 1100 Pan European as the pillion with the panniers and top box was more or less like an armchair especially when loaded for camping. Nine hours straight for us last night.

I am like Sally. I could sleep on the back of a bike with my arms locked around a strong waist and cuddled close to a warm back. No problem!

Later... Scrub that forecast. I don't know why but I have no desire whatsoever for shed work and am not pushing it. I feel cold. I shall have a walk, a good breakfast and then back to bed.

Yep...go with the flow, Stanley.
I have been resting up for weekend visitors. I need extra rests if I am going to have to cook then chat until midnight. I don’t want to be a party pooper, though my bed calls loudly by 8.30 pm as a rule. ( though I do love a good chat too...so I just need to build up the sleep bank). :good: I am sure I will have the staying power!

Morning

Yesterday after my one to one pilates I re-sanded parts of my table again and applied another coat of varnish, new this time. When we moved the table back into its normal position two patches were obvious that where the varnish was rough and lumpy. Today I will apply yet another coat of the new varnish as the areas that I had to sand were back down to the bare wood. It may be taking its time but the table looks so much better than it did, and must certainly be waterproof by now! As well as our meal out I did manage a little Christmas sewing.

Today is pilates at 10.30 and yoga this evening . Its nice to chat to everyone online as well as doing the exercise. We do have quite a laugh. Although we are on mute through the session periodically someone unmutes themselves and make a comment, usually a witty comment. Its all so light hearted, and is beginning to feel very normal. I suppose today will be more sewing, as the weather does not promise to be suitable for a walk. Otherwise I shall just take it as it comes.

Have a good day all

No shed. Just had my second walk, it's dry (just) but cold and damp, it's nice to be back inside. I'm having my breakfast and looking forward to Melvyn Bragg and 'In Our Time' at 09:00.

I went to bed at 9AM and never heard a word of In Our Time. Went out like a light and slept for three and a half hours. I think I must have needed that!

I tried again with the repeat of In Our Time at 21:30. Switched the radio on, got in bed and went to sleep immediately! I shall have to go to BBC Sounds during the day.
I'm hoping I have a bit more enthusiasm for the shed this morning. I never went in there at all yesterday. Very unusual. I think I needed a day off. I shall see how I feel this morning.

Morning

At last a drier day, we have had a few wet ones this week and yesterday was no exception. I started the day with a quick second coat of the new varnish on my table and within the hour we could see that it was successful. Today it should be able to put the plants back on and restore some semblance of order into the conservatory so I can get to the washer and drier. After pilates I started to assemble bits and pieces for the sewing of my next Christmas coaster but found I needed some more bobbins for my machine. So we decided that after lunch we would drive over to Lords sewing centre in Oswaldtwistle Mills.

It was a horrendous drive, over Owd Betts visibility was very poor indeed but on the other side of the hill the rain though heavy was not as bad and the skies were lighter than in Rochdale , where, even at 2.00 pm we felt like daylight had not yet arrived. I had forgotten it was half term so was surprised at the number of cars out and about. It wasn’t too bad at the mills and we were able to get through to Lords without coming too near anyone else. However there seemed to be a number of people aimlessly drifting around, getting in the way of socially distanced queues for the till as if they were in the queue, confusing everyone including me. There was a lot of Christmas shopping going on too. We did buy one present ourselves when we just happened across one that we thought was very suitable for our friend Keith. It was 3.30 pm when we got home and nearly dark!

Today is dance exercise and then we shall go out. We intend taking advantage of the dry day and walking to the post office in Whitworth to post our remaining parcels . We shall have a small lunch at the Oxford as Joanne will be cleaning here. I presume it will be latish in the afternoon when we will be back. I may get one more Christmas coaster sewn before it is too dark to sew.

I see the leaves have started to fall off our apple tree, and the garden is slowly filling with autumn debris, soon it will look completely bare and winter will be well on its way. I saw from my facebook page that last year in this week we actually had snow. That won’t be today as the temperature is already 13 degrees.

Have a good day all

Maz, I realised that but couldn't work out what was being covered!
Sue, it was as dark here in Barlick. It was so nasty that I didn't have my afternoon walk, I don't see any point in masochism.
It's very gloomy here at the moment Sue and we have light rain but I shall be brave and have a second walk after spending two hours in the shed. Then breakfast and post in Shed Matters. Very mild!

He is just a wee snugglepot, pulling a blanket over his head and choosing to sleep, Stanley. I am sure you will be up for a sleep soon.

We got a little damp on our walk, the sky started clearing about 4.00 then clouded over again. But it was nice to get out

Morning

It rained all morning yesterday, in fact as I was looking up the forecast for the afternoon the whole forecast changed from 20% rain in the morning to 80%. It was still raining when we walked up to the Oxford at noon for lunch and was still raining as a heavy drizzle when we left at 1.15 pm . The pub was empty which was good but started to fill with couples like ourselves at 1.00pm so we had timed it well. Despite the weather we decided to head for the path behind the pub up on to the moors. It is mainly hard ground but Limers Way had huge puddles that were not always easy to avoid. We made it to the post office in Whitworth in an hour, without swimming😂 and then dropped down on to the old railway line footpath at Healey Dell. By then it was drying up and blue sky was appearing, as were many dog walkers. It was good to get out. In the evening I had a long Whats App call with Eve. This week’s cookery lesson was making bread sticks. She called me back when they were cooked so we could have our virtual tasting session.

Today is Bacup market , then no plans at the moment . No doubt I will find something to keep myself busy. This evening its a Whats App call with Briony

Have a good day all
