Stanley aren't you off somewhere soon on a steam train? We'll all be thinking 'lucky you'.

It was good trip Maz, Sally is trying to make her so called "big one" last all month, she's off today on another treat with a best friend to a mystery event in Manchester. We tend not to let the grass grow under our feet since the life changing wake up call eighteen years ago now when Sally was 42 and didn't think she would make 43. Glass is always half full never half empty, the experience of those dark days has rubbed off on our kids as well. Next month will be the second anniversary of Dan's death which again reinforces the need to do it while you can attitude.

A lot of my friends have a birthday week; a birthday month sounds even better. Happy birthday Sally.

Sally does right, milk it for all it's worth.
Maz, the Fellsman trip was on July 9th, look back for the pics. Furthest I shall be going today is round Valley Gardens.... But I'll have a bit of vicarious Russia with the Grand Prix....

As usual...confusion between Cazza and Mazza!
It was Cazza that asked the question about the train, not Maz ( Maz is the much younger sister and knew you had already been on your train trip.) :laugh5:
However Febby and I are due to do a similar day trip soon on a steam train for his birthday. ( next weekend in fact)

Sorry Kids! A senior moment but I always think of you as a unit after reading your story way back.... Maybe Cathy#s computer was off line on 9th July?

I had a nice relaxing day and then enjoyed a meal (Thai) with my daughter. I have been making up today for yesterdays relaxed time.

PS Stanley, I am the Angel out of Marilyn and myself (as Marilyn has told me...) :peace:

That may be true Cathy but to me you are both lovely women who have survived hard times. What a pity we lost those wonderful posts in the early days....

Bancroft Mill Engine Trust, we took our Ruby to see the engine in steam. Added bonus today of a trailer mounted Rolls Royce Merlin with a short prop being run up in the yard. Inside, apart from the engine there was entertainment in the form of Lancashire songs a bit of step clog dancing and a very good rendition of "Albert and the Lion" amongst other ditties. Tea and buns to finish off a nice afternoon.

We've just spent a few days in Robe, South Australia. It's a beautiful, very small town on the coast not far from the South Australian/Victorian border. The weather was fantastic; the caravan park was peaceful and on the edge of a lake. The only downside was the 8.5 hour trip there (and of course back home).

We have just got home after a night in Liverpool. We met up with friends, had a meal in a restaurant on the Albert Dock then went to see Peter Gabriel at the Echo Arena. We spent the night in a Travelodge and enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a Bistro which is conveniently situated beside the Travelodge car park. That's our holiday for the year!
I hated the motorway journey, especially this morning in all the rain showers, and though the concert was brilliant you do wonder if its worth going to all that trouble to see tiny little figures on a distant stage. What's really annoying is all the people who pay a lot of money for a ticket then spend the whole concert going backwards and forwards to the bar and then the toilet!
 We are getting very old!
