Highly doubtful if you, or any others have walked this one Stanley.

Here's the view from the other end. Between the two pictures, there are a few clues to where it is.

It all looks brand new. Is it at the back of the new developments on Valley Road?

Could it be in the Coates Lane Area Or is it a link from the Groves/Clifford St area to the new School off Kelbrook Rd passing the ends of Harrison and Clarence Streets?

Thomo's second guess is the right one.

When the county council applied to themselves for planning permission for the school, they made no provision for the scores of youngsters who walk across the fields to the high school, either from the end of Victoria Road or from Clifford Street. They intended blocking off the route, which is also used by folk going to the sports centre.

It was only when they had to negotiate with us Pendle councillors (because we had some control over the access off Kelbrook Road), that they agreed to include the path in their plans.

Is it beside Gyhll church? We walked that bit of the Pendle Way once across to Thornton in Craven, and it looks vaguely familiar.

When I said it was at our end of town, I meant it literally; the second photo was taken on the bridge over the stream which is the boundary between Barlick and Thornton. The path passes between the churchyard and cemetery.

David, when you take these photos in town do you ever get irate householders or others berating you for photographing their property? I once saw an interesting set up being use by builders working on some old shops. The work was at the back and the only way to get the masonry rubbish out was by setting up several interconnecting chutes which dropped it into a lorry. I thought it was worth a photo but when the builder saw me he went berserk. I still wonder if what he was doing was agin safety regs and he thought I was going to `shop' him.

Our village local history group published a small pamphlet and they included photos of some of the more historically interesting houses. The couple who had recently moved into one of these got very agitated when they saw the picture of their house in the pamphlet and made their objection plain. The rest of us couldn't see what all the fuss was about and thought they should have been pleased to see it being celebrated in the publication. There's no pleasing some folk!

People often show interest in what I'm doing, but I can't recall anyone being irate.

With the last ginnel pictured, the householder to the left was outside and we had a chat about issues with the ginnel. Whilst we were talking, next door but one lower down came along and chipped in as well.

The only occasion when someone may have been a bit short was when I took photos of a street nameplate. The gentleman of the house asked what I was doing taking pictures of the front of his house and was reassured when I showed him what the photos were of.

I have the advantage/disadvantage of most folk in Barlick knowing who I am and allowing leeway for my eccentricities...

I sometimes wonder (worry) about Stanley walking around town in the wee hours each morning. Maybe there is someone around my area doing the same thing (I don't want to know) but the first sound I hear is around 6am when the same car is driven down my street, it has become normal to hear it.

I don't think I am in much danger Cathy. Lovely and quiet at that time and the only people about are the early workers.
People can be so dog in a manger about their houses but I have never had any problem snapping them.
