That 'Spotty Hat' is instantly recognisable by those in the know.... It's a Kromer welder's cap, pure cotton, flame-proofed and designed to be worn with the neb at the back so it protects the back of your neck. You can get them here on the web and they are a good cap. All sorts of garish patterns. I always said they were made like that because welders tend to wander and it makes them instantly recognisable in a crowd....
I see where the 'air guitar' comment originated....
The Kids like it, a good snap and for the aficionados, it was done with the big Nikon, different lens quality and still beats the compacts.

If something is nagging you, deal with it. Action is the cure for worry and at the moment I am exercised by the fact that the paper is running out of copy. I shall take measures this day!

Don't forget to put a dash of vinegar in the slow cooking mutton. It speeds up the breakdown of the tough fibres in the meat. Not a disaster but the mutton I cooked yesterday is a bit more chewy than usual....

I think we all have some level of disquiet about the modern phenomenon of lack of privacy, everything we do is logged and stored somewhere even buying a pint of milk in a supermarket. The message is stop worrying about something you can't control, the genii is out of the bottle!

I've had a bit of a problem lately since I let the stove out. There isn't room in my cupboards for the big CI pots so I've put them on the stove in the front room. They are now summer ornaments!

I got my confirmation email assuring me I would not be 'continued' on July 14th this morning. All I need at the moment is St Bruno pipe tobacco, the Co-op have stopped stocking it, but Amazon don't list it.....

Now that's interesting. I've never thought about whether tobacco products are sold online, if they are then it would mean kids could buy them. I've now looked on Amazon and it seems they don't sell tobacco but they do sell all the associated products such as tobacco tins, pouches, fake cigs, rolling papers etc. But it looks like you can sell cigarettes on Amazon as long as they don't contain tobacco. So kids can buy non-tobacco cigs to get in practise until they're old enough to buy them in the shops! And who knows whether the burning material in the non-tobacco cigs causes cancer or not?

Have you tried the "One Stop" on Church St Stanley, No idea whether they stock it or not because all is now hidden and it's long time since I bought any tobacco products. They do have cupboard full though, might be worth asking.

I ordered ten packs from an online tobacco store I have used before... Still plenty of Bruno in the cupboard. Will continue to nag the Co-op!
Today's tip, tobacco doesn't deteriorate with age, it just gets drier, even in 'airtight packs'. Terry Gissing once found a bunch of old Condor packs in a cupboard that the firm had bought for Xmas presents for the lads many years ago. It was rock hard. He gave it to me and I put it in a big jar with rum in it and left it for a few months.... It gradually recovered. Good stuff!

Yunnan (next province to us) tobacco bought locally for hand rolling, under £6 per 1000g. I don't smoke but I'm told this stuff is very good. The prices in the UK astound me. Keep on smoking, your taxes are helping some poor immigrant get their free council house with flat screen TV.

I don't let myself be bothered about the price, I like it so I buy it. The tax could just as feasibly be helping pay for the NHS....

It works out at over £250,000 a tonne versus £6000 where I live. I was amazed at the mark-up wherever the profit or tax goes.

It's the reason successive governments will not ban tobacco products entirely, regardless of the health implications.
