I know my limitations David, not for me.
Why did Ken not get it with wire and spark erosion?

He was extremely warm but not quite there, perhaps he should be given it. By the way, the immersion would be in de-ionised water.

I drifted off target because I thought the two pieces had been created by a single cut. Hence the fine wire suggestion. If they were made a separate pieces, an inner and an outer, the wire cutting technique is as old as the hills. We had dozens of spark machines using copper electrodes to impart a given shape but never used de-ionised water as the electrolyte media. But all is forgiven.

The wire erosion principal has been developed as an edge cutting process, where as spark erosion using copper electrodes is a burn through process, which is less efficient in both time and energy.

David asked a short way back if there was anything I wasn't an expert in. You've found something. I know spark erosion is possible, watched broken studs being cut out with it but I have no idea about the techniques.

Looks like an Elizabethan bed to me, did they have pillows of that shape back then.
Looks like the front pillows have been added.

Great Bed of Ware, circa 1590, now in the V&A. Apparently you can fit 4 couples into it (although that's probably not allowed in the V&A!).

It's a defunct shipping line now and is it one of the island "puffers" on the West coast of Scotland?

No Gloria, I think it was the late 50s.
Correct Ian, it's a Puffer. But where and what is special about it?
