It took a long time for the image to filter through the debris that's accumulated over the years but the tin box holds a Primus stove. Custom made to allow dining in the back yard.

Dead right Ken, good memory! Made by my mate the tinsmith at REW. I still have it and the Primus stove.
Next for shaving?

I have the small rucksack friendly Primus somewhere which came in its own tin.
Camping Gas put paid to all the paraphernalia that you had to cart round with you as well.

I used to have one of them Ian. I gave it to a mate at Rochdale.
What can you tell me about this?

Looks like it's a National Grid transmission tower, maybe previously used as part of the "Chain Home" radar network?

I was thinking that as Kev is an offcumden and a Kentish man I think, it was a good punt, oh well. I'm intrigued even more now.

You're correct in your presumption Ian

I think you'd better give the answer Kev. Nobody else is nibbling and Ian deserves to be put out of his misery!

It looks very high so a wild guess, does it span the Thames?

It's the Swanscombe Marshes side, of the 400kV lines over the Thames to Thurrock. I reckon China deserves a mention for his answer.

There was a ship carrying munitions that sank in the Thames in WW2 . Remember the picture but useless at names.

Well done Ken, The Liberty Ship SS Richard Montgomery. Still sat on the bottom with a large quantity of explosives in it and nobody seems to know what to do. Fears that if detonated it it could cause a lot of damage.
Kev knew it of course from local knowledge so he got there first.
Next one for shaving?

Is it an LCT designed for tanks?
For some funny reason it looks to me like a converted trawler. Can't say why.

The front drops down when beached, and vehicles/persons are released straight onto the beach. In the meantime they are protected from attack.
