It's such a lousy pic it would be cruel to let you struggle any longer. It's the cut face of a nutmeg. Try this one. What is it and what is it used for?

Not there yet Kids. Gloria, it's not steel so it wouldn't wear well in a bearing. Keep at it!
David, do you remember when Polo brought out a special edition purporting to be the centres punched out of Polo Mints? They looked like Tic Tacs and had to be withdrawn because they were being sold as Ecstasy on the street.

Can't think what the bronze ball thingy is, but have you noticed the shadow of the OGFB walking man on the backing cloth to the left...?

Is it a ball stopper for inside a bottle? Don't know exactly what they are called.

David, the walking man has been there for ages, I really like it.

No Gloria, I think he means the stain on the white background cloth. Could it be the Turin effect?

I once visited the factory where they make Polo mints and saw the cut out centres being transported back up the line to be crushed and recycled into the process - some of it has probably been cycling round since the year dot!

When I was a Policeman many years ago I remember arresting a one fingered pickpocket who used to specialise in stealing Polo mints......! :surprised:

Right, settle down at the back. Come on now, what would a phosphor bronze ball be used for?
